Next year. They would keep the kids with offers and the strongest can try and play up. The rest just practice? Not clear. Trying to validate.

Would not be surprised if this was true...

Would gamble large sums that u14 team will not happen next year. But, everyone will believe what they want. When you hear from.DCU then you'll come back here and realize people know what the hell they are talking bout and are connected.

And think of the gravity of this ..Here is an organization that actively recruited kids, offered them spots on a team, only to, just months later, decide to kill the team because they want to move in a different direction and/or they don't have money. This is so fitting for DCU. This is how this group of parents starts their experience with DCU. We want your kid, sike, no we don't. Unbelievable, but really not surprising at all.

So bad and really shame on DCU for doing this to the kids and parents.

It is just SO poor on DCUs part. Confirms everything that has been said on here about the organization and it's standing in the MLS academy hierarchy (extremely low).

I also heard from a reliable source that they don't feed the boys on road trips and they have to sleep in alleys rummaging through dumpsters

And it is even more telling that you have a child in the academy and you're clueless about what is going on there. Shows you how much they care about you and your understanding of the decisions that are being made at your club that could have tangential impact or direct impact on your son. DCU is just a substandard academy all the way around and there is no other way to look at it. If you see it another way you're lying to yourself.

Half the MLS club academies are closing

You can make light of it all you want. But when you find out from DCU (whenever that communication comes out from them) that there will be no u14 team next year you will feel like a straight dumba##

The players that have been given offers for u14 next year will be allowed to play for other clubs. They will train with DCU once a week just to keep them close. But there will be no schedule for them in MLS Next or anywhere else. Let that sink in.

why was communication made to only some of the future U14's and not all?

Eventually it will be made to all the parents but they lost control of the news and had to tell some parents first to not look totally ridiculous. Which they already look totally ridiculous anyway...

Lost control and only told some parents because the logistics and costs to send emails to all is too great
