Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
I moved from NYC last year, where some of the area Whole Foods stores had great dessert bars. All kinds of cakes, puddings, etc that were set up like the salad bar or hot foods bar - you take what you want and pay by the pound. It was great if I wanted something sweet but didn't want to get a whole cake or a whole piece of cake. I don't think this is just a NYC thing, because I have seen them in other Whole Foods too. Does anyone know if any of the ones here have this? I know Old Town, Vienna, and Clarendon don't... what about Springfield? I miss it!
The one in Fair Lakes definitely has more in the food bar area - they have gelato and a candy section
Springfield does not. In fact it is a TINY store, one of the first ones in the area so it's missing the bells and whistles of the more recently built stores.
I was also going to say Fair Lakes. Bread pudding, cobblers, etc. Yum!
Fair Lakes for sure and the last time I was at the one off Telegraph in OT Alex they had desserts. P Street did too last weekend but maybe it's weekend-only.
Definitely Fair Lakes - It was at one point in time the largest Whole Foods in the country.
The P Street WF has a huge dessert section. Not exactly what you are describing, but everything you could ever possibly want - and all available in individual servings.
Yup. Was just at the Logan Circle one (P Street) yesterday and could barely contain myself. Ended up snarfing down four whoopie pies.
Fairlakes has a small desert bar, nothing like those in NYC though, and not nearly the options.
not positive about Friendship Heights but it is a vey large store and has a huge "bar" area so it probably has a dessert bar.
