How often to paint house?

We've lived in this townhouse for almost 3 years and have a 2.5 yr old and a 6 mon old. We anticipate being here for another 2 or 3 years. We had the house fully painted when we move in and then re-painted the dining room 1.5 years ago (we tried red and realized it was hideous in our old-fashioned house)... Now, we've got a few areas that have been crayoned or penned or are just dirty and some of our color choices don't seem as nice anymore (two pale yellow bathrooms that I don't like the shade if anymore). We have no paint at all leftover... So my question is: paint now for our own pleasure? Or ride it out until ready to move and then do all needed refreshers?

For the rooms with marks on the wall, if you're otherwise happy enough with the paint color, try Magic Eraser to clean up the walls.

You can go to a duron store with a paint sample and they can scamatch the color by computer.
