My parents in-law (both nearly 70) are looking to downsize to a 2 bedroom apartment close to DC and transit. I don't think they're wanting to move into a retirement community, but I'm thinking that a regular apartment complex might not be right for them either. I've heard that there are apartment buildings or communities in Silver Spring with units designed for older people, and with provisions for services that elderly people might need. I don't know where to start looking for such a place though. Any pointers or websites? Thanks! |
You might be thinking of Springvale Terrace - they have a website. |
As far as I know, Springvale Terr only has rather small, one bedroom apts (with 2 burner stoves in the kitchen). I could be wrong - check the website - but I think that is the case. |
Could you be thinking of Leisure World? |
I would check out Leisure World, it is a whole community of folks and I think having a community would be more important than merely living in an apt. building. My dad lived in a retirement life community, Asbury in Gaithersburg.
