Our backyard fence is chainlink... I think it would look so much better as a wood fence. Yet, it is a large fence and the estimates I've seen are high from Long Fence.
Any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive, but nice, backyard fence? Any luck with using a handyman to install fence panels say from Home Depot, or other suggestions? |
| I'd suggest getting several more bids from different companies. We got 3 and there was a lot of space between them. |
| You can always cover up the chainlink with split bamboo fence. Gardeners.com sells them as do a lot of gardening centers. |
| We have wood fence in some places but chain link across the back of our yard. Our landscape architect told us to leave the chain link, paint it black (we used spray paint) and plant trees and shrubs in front of it. We did that and the chain link is basically invisible now and we didn't have to replace a big portion of fence. It actually makes the yard look bigger because the edge isn't defined with a big fence. It was a lot of landscaping but we were going to do that anyway. |
