McLean leaving FVU

A chance sure everyone 100% has a chance at a chance but NO, 3rd team players rarely rise beyond the 2nd team at u12 forward.

But McLean is so bad after U12. Why wouldn't they move up?

McLean used to be baddies. Then 5 years ago the program collectively sh*t the bed. I’m not going to lie, I love it.

What happened 5 years ago?

Will McLean send out more offer or is that it?

I think their girls teams are pretty full to the max from what I heard.

They had a lot of kids at the tryouts. I suspect not everyone will get an offer

From what I hear they can’t fill the white teams because no one is accepting the offers and they are trying out at Arlington.

Sure pal. Likely you got an offer you didn't like from McLean, which means their program is actually stronger than you think your kid is. No parent on this forum has broad, club-wide acceptance info a club's genders, ages, and team colors. The lack of specificity in your claim screams troll, dissatisfied parent, or Arlington booster.

McLean don’t have a strong program (boys or girls). They may look good at U12 but after that down they go. I would not even consider the first teams. Too soft unless you don’t mind loosing every weekend.

Have you seen VPSL standings? Older girls are 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.

I'm not familiar with the boys side - did MYS do the same as with the girls, most of the current Green teams became the MLS Next team then the White team will then fill in for Green, etc.?

If we didn’t get an offer does it mean it’s a no? For 1st or 2nd…I assume those teams are filled by now?

If you’re a parent of a young player, no need to worry. There’s a place for your kid either at McLean or another club. Sometimes it’s a numbers thing for a specific age group, not enough kids to make another team and too many to add all that tried out.

Reach out to clubs and you will find the appropriate environment for your kid. If being on a higher team is important, have your kid put in time with the ball on their own or with a training group and you will be much better prepared for next year.

Hang in there. I know it can feel like life and death but everyone eventually finds their appropriate level. What team you’re on now has very little to do with where they end up in the future.
