Meal delivery or personal chef

Anonymous
Any recommendations? If it is a personal chef, I'd prefer someone who would prepare the food elsewhere and then bring it to my house. I am in Montgomery Cty. I'm just looking for something temporary because we are under some stress right now.

Do you like Let's Dish? It's not quite the same as a complete meal delivery because you still have to cook the food. But they have a dish and dash service (or they used to) where they assemble the meals and package them and they will even deliver to your house if you can't pick up.

I did this one month when we were just really swamped and ordered 12 meals each divided into half portions (3 servings each bag) which was plenty for me, DH and out two young kids. Added very simple sides like frozen rice from Trader Joes and such.

I second let's dish, it's professionally done, and I liked that it comes minimally prepared but not totally cooked so can be prepared really quickly and comes up totally good.

I'm looking for something like this to send to someone in the Lorton area I.e. send them a few meals to help out). Anyone have any ideas?

IF you or DH works in DC, The Souper Girl makes great, filling vegan soups. They will deliver to your office (or home in DC) but I don't think they deliver as far out as where you live.

Thanks. Let's dish may be too much work right now. I really need food that can just be reheated. I'll look into the sOuper girl. Also, any recommendations for prepared food at a grocery store or similar?

You must try Healthy Bites. Low fat, mostly organic meals that are prepared the day they are delivered to your house. They have really taken the stress out of dinner meal prep. I order them for my husband and me, then prepare more standard kid fare for my children.

I also recommend Healthy Bites. Good food and super nice people.

Food is much tastier than Healthy Bites. Order as much or as little as you want. They deliver. I highly recommend it.

Looks like Urban Tastes no longer does meals. Any services that compete with Healthy Bites? I am worried DH won't get enough food.

Anyone else try this? I need to lose weight but DH does not. Maybe he could just supplement with some easy sides or add fruit and icecream since we currently do not eat dessert?
