Considering they just announced GA....Isn't this a little premature? |
OR, to be expected? |
that's based off current performance, but they got what 60% of current FCV roster. I don't think they'll be dead last, there are winless teams in every age group in the mid-atlantic. The PNW is also weak. I'd put them in the 70s ~80s range. |
It's neither, really. Just data based on performance of existing teams at those age group. Which shows where they stand, comparatively. Doesn't mean anything for next year. |
I don't know that they got 60%, certainly a majority in some age groups...and of the kids that went to VRSC, many were struggling at FCV for play time. We shall see...I do have lots of faith in CZ, but then again, he can't coach everyone. |

The 2011 should be #1 in South for GA VRSC
The 2010's will struggle as not many switched over from GA. The 2009's are up in the air depending on who shows up. The 2008's are the same as 09's. About 7-8 good players moved and they need to pick up the same amount to have a decent team. The 2007's and 2006's will be weak at best. Most of the FCV GA players stayed and TSJ should have a solid team at this age group. All of the younger teams at TSJ will benefit from Brave players that showed up, but the roster of GA 2 players that are moving up are very weak. The Brave players are not much better but some are in fact much better. The teams who can find the best players to add to their rosters over the summer will do the best next year. |
I heard most of the 07s left (and none of the 06s are staying). Something like 4 or 5 maybe staying doesn't seem like "most"... |
Even if most of the 07's left, a core group including the goalie are supposedly staying including Maya and several other D1 commits. They have nothing to lose when combined with some solid 06 players. Many won't even be that serious as they mostly will be trying to avoid injuries. This is what I heard which is opposite from what you heard. It won't take many from each team to combine into a solid team. There are also some better ga2 players at these age groups so depending on where they end up. It will be interesting to see who is left when the final rosters are published this summer. Clear TSJ is still looking to recruit players and whichever club does the better job of this over the summer will be the best teams for next year. Suc will have to pick up some good players from Arlington to be competitive in the GA. |
Where are they picking up these "solid 06s"? None from the current FCV team.... And not sure what you mean by a "core group" either? You'll have a goalie, Maya (who will miss significant time next year for National Team activities), and maybe two other D1 commits who are staying. It's not going to be a completely new team I would agree but they are filling out 12-14 roster spots (including half the starting lineup) from either BRAVE castoffs or GA 2 teams (which don't have better players). |
Perhaps FCV shouldn't have alienated so many players with coaches who only focus on the top kids and sometimes take the money but don't put some players on tournament rosters. |
