I read the article quickly, but I don't think any of those "top Jewish Americans" were ever very big supporters of Obama in the first place. Koch in particular was a Clinton supporter who -- in 2008 -- described Obama as a "sure loser". I think the article is an attempt to generate controversy where there is none.

Whatever. They feel obligated to stomp and shout any time there is even the slightest change in position. They are rich and free here, and there is some sense of guilt or responsibility that others made the sacrifice to make Israel a reality.

But this takes things to their logical conclusion. Obama's position is a NON-change. This is not even in question. The record on negotiations is clear. Even Netanyahu himself accepts these principles. See Wikileaks if you are in doubt.

The problem of such protestations is that at some point prominent Jews begin to look like hopeless Yankees fans, so partisan that every put is an insanely bad call no matter what the instant replay shows. The one difference o
Is that theyhave money to spend. But this time Obama willhave a war chest that means hecan weather a drop in financial backing. And ultimately the Jewish community knows thatDemocrats have been, and will continue to be, important in assuring the safety of Israel.

They were elected by whoever wrote the headline, to get more people to read it. Does anyone, even in NY, take Ed Koch seriously?
