Because it was cancelled due to the storm.

Another downside of Capital, they don’t have an option to pivot to an indoor location

Math:

The 2024 average admissions rate of the ten top-20 universities where the 16 Capital commits in the 25 and 26 classes are heading is 7.7 percent.

The average 2024 per-class enrollment at these schools is 1,627. That means a total average of roughly 16,270 kids were accepted to these schools last year (from a collective admissions pool in the hundreds of thousands).

For context, there are over 26K high schools in America. That means there are 52K HS Valedictorians and Salutatorians in each class with perfect / near perfect GPAs and high SAT scores vying for these schools (and other top 20 schools) each year.

For sake of argument, let's double the number of kids accepted to the ten top-20 schools where the Capital girls committed (to estimate total per-class enrollment of all top 20 schools). That comes to 32,500 kids -- still nowhere near enough to admit the top 2 kids from each HS in America.

And when you factor in legacy admissions, athletes recruited to other sports programs at these schools, etc., the odds of admission decrease even further.

All this to say ... If you think lax gives girls "a little edge," you are ... greatly mistaken.

The PP's claim that these girls "happen to play lacrosse" is also incorrect. These are some of the best players in the country, evidenced by the fact that 75 percent of those 25 and 26 Capital commits heading to top 20 academic universities will be playing for nationally-ranked top 25 teams.

Impressive stats!!

Not many clubs can. How many have an indoor location they can go to?

Tryouts about to commence! Hopefully the weather cooperates. Can’t imagine they would reschedule again.

Girls were told at Capital last night that they could send highlight videos if they couldn't make today. How could that work?

They could probably upload it to a site that Capital has access to, email it in a zip file, or create a url by uploading on an independent site like youtube.
If tthere are any clips beating or winning matchups vs MDDC players, all the better.

I would be shocked if this is true.

It’s not. They sent an email saying if you can’t attend today then you need to let them know so they can remove your name from the tryout roster.

It will be hard to find those

Really telling and interesting for sure.

Will be super interesting who doesn’t show up to capital tonight. I think that some kids that were considered cap blue locks have gone elsewhere, can think of one really big one already.

Pray tell, which club to which club, and how did things change in less than 24 hours?

With all the bad or deliberately misleading info on this page I am reading this and every other post with extreme skepticism.
