Math:
The 2024 average admissions rate of the ten top-20 universities where the 16 Capital commits in the 25 and 26 classes are heading is 7.7 percent.
The average 2024 per-class enrollment at these schools is 1,627. That means a total average of roughly 16,270 kids were accepted to these schools last year (from a collective admissions pool in the hundreds of thousands).
For context, there are over 26K high schools in America. That means there are 52K HS Valedictorians and Salutatorians in each class with perfect / near perfect GPAs and high SAT scores vying for these schools (and other top 20 schools) each year.
For sake of argument, let's double the number of kids accepted to the ten top-20 schools where the Capital girls committed (to estimate total per-class enrollment of all top 20 schools). That comes to 32,500 kids -- still nowhere near enough to admit the top 2 kids from each HS in America.
And when you factor in legacy admissions, athletes recruited to other sports programs at these schools, etc., the odds of admission decrease even further.
All this to say ... If you think lax gives girls "a little edge," you are ... greatly mistaken.
The PP's claim that these girls "happen to play lacrosse" is also incorrect. These are some of the best players in the country, evidenced by the fact that 75 percent of those 25 and 26 Capital commits heading to top 20 academic universities will be playing for nationally-ranked top 25 teams.
