Reading ClearBlue Easy Fertility sticks w/o the monitor

Anonymous
This is my second month using the ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor. My cycles are very irregular and often quite long -- sometimes more than 40 days -- but I always ovulate. (I'm temping/charting too.) After a certain # of days (28 days, I think) the monitor stops asking you for sticks. Is there anyway to read the sticks without using the monitor, so I can have some indication of an impending ovulation date even when my cycle is long?

As an aside, it's so frustrating that the monitor doesn't work for those of us with longer cycles -- we are the often the ones who really need help pinpointing ovulation!!

Unfortunately you can't read the sticks without the monitor. And after reading a great deal about the monitor, appears it is not suited for people that have extremely long cycles. I am sorry. I know they are expensive!!

Looks like you can read the sticks without using the monitor, but it's not an exact science.

If you know you have superlong cycles, just start the monitor later. My cycles weren't as long as yours, but Day 5 def was not my actual Day 5. So I suggest for your next cycles maybe make their Day 5 equal to your Day 20 (or whatever your cycle length is plus extra days...hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say...)

Honestly though, I found using regular Clear Blue OPK's combined with charting and looking at my Cervical mucous did a better job than the monitor.

The www.peeonastick.com guidance is good and it works. You can visually inspect the two lines on the test and make a reasonable conclusion regarding your peak days.
