Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| My DC is taking WISC Test tomorrow, how long it takes get the results.. same day?? a week?? |
| Depends on the facility. Are you going to GMU? I heard their turn around is 10 days. We called a private tester last Monday, had the test done on Thursday, were provided a handwritten summary of the scores at the end of the testing period (on Thursday), and received a full written report (for submission to the county) in the mail on Saturday. So for us the whole thing took less than a week. Not sure if that is typical. Good luck, and let your tester know that you need the results well before June 1st. |

We went to a private tester and tested on a Saturday. We got the results on Tuesday (verbal and written results).
Ours may have been an odd case as we had to have the test and the results within a finite period of time (we were in Fairfax on a visit in prep for our move back home this summer). |
| We also had ours done with a private tester. My daughter took the test on Saturday and we got the results on a Tuesday. The psychologist was wonderful and spent a full hour explaining the scores to me.Good luck |

Hi
Can you give me the name of the psychologist you used? I just moved to Fairfax and trying to have DC considered for immediate placement into AAP. Thanks |
| Others on this board have mentioned that theyt used Virginia Smith in Vienna or Diana Dalgren in Fairfax. Good luck! |
| I think PP may have confused some info -- we used Laurie Smith in Vienna. |
| Ooops. Sorry about that! Tis Laurie. |
| fyi, on the other name, it's "Dahlgren." |
| Thank you from P10:39 |
| I heard that in FCPS, the only testing they accept is through GMU. Maybe that's only for AAP placement. |
Not true. |
| The only reuqirement is that it be given by a state licensed psychologist. |
