Keep buying new bras?

Feel so stupid asking this, because clearly, a bra that fits is important! Pre-pregnancy, I was a 34B, and barely a B at that. Around 7-8 weeks, I caved and bought new bras, size 34C. They fit great for a while. Now at 20 weeks, I am noticing that I am literally spilling out the sides of the 34C's.

I know this is COMPLETELY normal, but seriously, how many cup sizes did you all go up during your pregnancy? I was previously hardly anything more than flat-chested! I feel like it's a waste to buy more new bras, but it's uncomfortable wearing bras that don't fit. All I want anymore is a sports bra (and believe me, I find ways to wear them all the time, even to work!)

I only went up 1 cup size and 2" in band (34A to 36B). I just bought Target nursing bras and wore those for the last 1/3 of pregnancy. I was able to continue wearing them after DC was born.

I am a small B when not pregnant and am currently a DD, at 36 weeks, and since my early second trimester. I bought three DD bras at about 18 weeks, one of which is really too small now, and am glad I did. I am just a little scared of what happens when my milk comes in. But I vote for buying at least one or two that fit now.

I went from a 34B to 34C at about 8 weeks too. I'm 23
weeks now and my new bras are totally uncomfortable. I bought nursing sleep bras at Target. They are super comfortable and expand a lot. I figure I can wear them after the baby too, so I don't feel like I'm wasting money on bras I'll only wear for 2 months. Like you, I try to get away with sports bras as much as possible.

As a second time mom, I know that I hate, hate, hate nursing bras. They are so sexless and hideous and unflattering--especially in large sizes, where they are cut so high they are often practically turtle necks. So I am glad that I invested in some nicer, underwire, flattering bras that fit for pregnancy, even if it was an indulgence.

Try Nordstrom rack - they have really high quality bras for "pregnancy only" prices.

cheap bras from Ross or Marshalls. It takes some looking, but it was better than spending a gazillion. Way back when I got cheap nursing bras at Motherhood outlet.

I jumped from A to B pretty early on and had to buy C cups a few weeks ago (now 26 weeks). I too wonder how much bigger they're going to get! I went to Filene's Basement and TJ Maxx and got bras for $10-15.

I think it's totally worth buying. I practically ripped off my bras every day at 8 weeks or so and had already gone up a size (from DD to DDD), and I'm now 21 weeks at DDDD. It is just not worth the discomfort. I'm holding onto all my old bras, though, in the hopes (please!) that I'll go down in size at least after I'm done nursing.

if you're going to be pumping at work eventually, you may be able to wear the bigger bras then too. Last time around I wore nursing bras when with DS, but since I had the hands free bra for my pump it was actually more comfortable to unfasten my bra than put the hands free one over the nursing one to pump.

I went from 34C pre preg to 34E 1st trimester, 40DD 3rd trimester, to 34G 6 weeks PP. Needless to say, I have quite a range of sizes in my bra drawer. I did find it helpful to get just one or two in the right size, and honestly some days I did just wear a sports bra for comfort. If it makes you feel better about spending the money, I am now back to my 1st trimester size bras after weaning!

OP, maybe it would help to get measured? You may need a different band size. Nordstrom & Victoria's Secret will measure.

I'm usually a 32 B and have bought four bras so far (27 weeks) (I kept the tags on some b/c I bought the wrong sizes)! First I went up to a 34B, and then I caved and bought a 36C. I think for me the band was the most important. I bought cheap ones from Target and Macy's, though (helps to be small chested). I currently love the one I'm wearing - no underwire but it's cut like a normal bra and isn't heinous. The underwire was killing me.

On the flip side, I only went up one cup size and one band size when pregnant, and then another cup size when my milk came in.

I bought a couple GREAT racerback nursing sports bras at the Tysons II Macy's. Good for fudging.
