Seriously. I listened to a bit of that and all I got is that he has no idea how tariffs work. Tariffs = higher prices so how is that helping with childcare problems?

Trump has never known what tariffs are and how they work. There are some policies that he lies about but I think this is genuinely one he doesn’t understand.

So he's super dumb and doesn't have a clue. But had the PDB for four years, knows a lot of angles that you've never heard of, had a federal workforce of over 2 million distilling info for him and has seen things that you never will.

But he's just doesn't understandand doesn't have a clue about tariffs (according to you).

So with all that stated, can you tell me why Canada just put a 100% tariff on Chinese made EVs, right AFTER the Biden Administration imposed a 100% tariff on Chinese made EVs???

Here ya go: https://www.freightwaves.com/news/canada-follows-us-imposes-100-tariff-on-chinese-made-electric-vehicles

Tariffs the likes of which no one has seen before. We’re looking at it very strongly. Very strongly. And it will be the best.

Trump probably thinks that foreign governments pay the tariffs to the U.S. treasury and then he can skim some off the top. Or maybe take all of it. He’s salivating at his addled brain’s idea that he personally can gather those tariffs into his little hands.

BINGO

He did that to prevent dumping. But, we rely on Chinese imports for most goods. Go to any Walmart in MAGA country. All Chinese made. They complain about inflation now, but wait till Trump puts tariffs on all things Chinese made. Then they'll really start complaining.

If you think listening to it was hard, here is for your reading pleasure!

This is an unedited transcript of his response:

Well, I would do that, and we're sitting down, and I was, somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so, uh, impactful on that issue. It's a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I'm talking about, that, because, look, child care is child care is. Couldn't, you know, there's something, you have to have it – in this country you have to have it.

But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I'm talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they're not used to — but they'll get used to it very quickly – and it's not gonna stop them from doing business with us, but they'll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Uh, those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we're talking about, including child care, that it's going to take care.

We're gonna have - I, I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with, uh, the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country, because I have to stay with child care. I want to stay with child care, but those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I'm talking about, including growth, but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just, uh, that I just told you about.

We're gonna be taking in trillions of dollars, and as much as child care, uh, is talked about as being expensive, it's, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we'll be taking in. We're going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people, and then we'll worry about the rest of the world. Let's help other people, but we're going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It's about Make America Great Again, we have to do it because right now we're a failing nation, so we'll take care of it. Thank you. Very good question. Thank you.

pp here.. dam* you. I really did not need to read that. Now my brain hurts.

1) what Chinese EVs are currently sold in the US?
2) would we want cheap Chinese EVs to flood the US market, supplanting US manufacturers?

Trump spent all the revenue from his tariffs bailing out farmers for crashing the agricultural economy, $61 Billion in extra farm subsidies because of his clueless policies. His dumb trade war started the destruction of supply chains before the pandemic. He is 100% incompetent and dangerously ignorant.

I think he got prescribed pain meds or anti-anxiety meds like Xanax after the shooting and is enjoying them a little too much. His speech has been worse since then and he seems afraid to go anywhere, like he's having physical difficulties and is afraid and confused. It's also likely he's in cognitive decline. The combo is what we're seeing, I think.

What really drives me insane is how the media will report on this and will twist it to make sense of it instead of just saying it's incomprehensible rambling and it's absurd to say we are going to tax foreign governments to raise our own revenue such that we will quickly eliminate deficits.
