Why was the kid not in the gym daycare until you were ready to leave?

Signed a gym rat that took her kids from 6 weeks o wards and managed not to disrupt everyone else

OP, you said earlier that English was not your first language? Where are you from, if I may ask?

Please follow the thread. Topic already addressed.

Classic DCUM. I have never seen anyone shower at the gym with a toddler sitting outside the shower. OP, you are a troll, but this thread was pretty good. Thank you.

Did someone actually revive a seven year old thread??

I would have skipped the shower at the gym and gone straight home.

She didn't try to calm him. She was being condescending. She puffed and made noises before saying something.

He had my phone in a ziplock bag and played with it while crying.

No I'm not crazy. I'd be crazy if I left him alone at home like the stupid PP suggested. Who in their right mind leaves a toddler alone at home to work out??????

Didn't you say your son had surgery? Who takes their one year old son to work out who is recovering from surgery? You are the selfish one because you know you can work out at home when your child is taking his nap. You say the woman was condescending but, I really doubt your interpretation since you clearly are the one in the wrong. Gyms like it when we don't come it. As long as you give them money that is all that matters!

You brought your kid into the ladies’ locker room? Unless you’re at the Y, that’s gotta be against company policy.

Why was your son not in the gym day care? Or, why did you not shower at home?

OP, stop and think for a second. This woman had just as much of a right to enjoy a peaceful post-shower workout (she's paying the same gym fee you are) as you did.

I've had several people over the years make REALLY rude comments to me or worse, directly to my kids themselves when they were having a public melt-down.

If the biggest thing you are bothered about is this woman's "condescending" tone (which your 1 year old won't recognize, btw) then I would consider yourself lucky and consider NOT contacting management in the future. I would have responded with a "sorry, I'm trying to hurry but he's not feeling great."

You're the mom of a 1 year old, we can related to the stress you were probably feeling. Just please, see it for what it is. This woman could have said far worse--she could have asked you (I'm using the words that a TRULY cranky old lady in the grocery store once said to me) to "shut up your screaming bratt."

Who tries to shower with a one year old loose in a locker gym? You are in the wrong here

To the mom at the gym: Don't leave your kid sitting and screaming at the gym. Shower at home if necessary.

I'm glad you complained. Now the manager knows you are the one with the screaming kid others will complain about.
