| Colleges like Wake, Emory, Tulane, SMU all attract similar caliber of students. Go to the one that isbest for your kid for major, locaion, etc. |
Emory 1500- 1570 Tulane 1430-1500 SMU 1340- 1490 What are you talking about? |

Nortre Dame, CMU, UMich, UC Berkeley, UCLA Rice as also TO. Please stop acting like there's a difference between 20 and 24. Its very transparent and try hard. Your child isnt getting into any of these schools. |
+1 Also, there isnt any subject Wake, Tulane, or SMU does that Emory doesn't do better so the choice would always be Emory if you actually got in, which vast majority Tulane, Wake, smu students cant. |

Rice, Vanderbilt, Washu, Northwestern, Umich, Notre Dame, WashU, Uva, USC, UNC said Emory was their peer school. Not sure why Emory gets this level of vitriol but suggest a permanent T25 isnt really T25 quality would need more evidence than your feelings. |
I am not a mom of any school in this list. But I do think this is the relatively objective comment here. Of course there is still space to say which one is better, but Emory is closer to them than to SMU, Tulane, etc. |
Depends on major imo. For premed Emory is better than all of them, for engineering worse. |
It also depends on what your kid wants socially and whether they want a mid-sized private or a large state flagship. Emory is very liberal and doesn’t have a football team or any other big-time sports team. SMU and Wake are more traditional. Michigan and UCLA are in a different category altogether. |
If you wanted a school that was conservative or had a football team you wouldn't even apply to Emory. If you apply to Emory and Wake you are okay woth their differences and Emory is your Reach and Wake your match or safety. |
| Parents of Tufts, Wake, Smu etc probably see Emory as the weakest T25 link thats why there's constant comparisons, despite it being delusional. Not to be rude but I work for a large bank and we wouldn't hire those other grads over a Emory or other top25. |
| Tufts, Emory, Wake, W & M, SMU, Wash U, Notre Dame, Tulane, etc are all “niche” schools. It’s hard to make any meaningful comparisons amongst them. |
| For schools outside T10, you select schools by major, not by brand. Non-t10 schools typically have something strong going on, but not all around winners. |
| Wake, BC, Tufts etc are definitely not worth that money. No wow factor with mixed bag of career outcomes. At least Wake has good weather. Tufts and BC are not special. Flagships much better investment and more fun. |
Some T10s aren't all around winners either. I wouldn’t go to Caltech or JHU for business/finance. A Emory would be much better for that. |
