Who exactly are YOU that multiple “guys at better schools” are talking to you about their sex lives? |
You are writing a response to a response about straight men, not about women. |

All female schools are great for lesbians, bi-sexual, and transgender students. Not so great for straight females (due to both lack of males as well as risk of sexual assault by other students. Do research before dismissing the concern about sexual assault by females upon females.) What!? Oh yes, the epidemic of 'female upon female" sexual assault. If anyone needs to do research, it is YOU. So I guess these women's colleges are terribly unsafe places for women due to "female upon female" sexual assault!? Get a life. "Sexual assault is defined as any unwanted sexual contact, including sexual grabbing, kissing, fondling, and rape (Criminal Code of Canada—Section 271—Sexual Assault, 2018). It is a gendered crime that is disproportionately perpetrated by males against females (National Sexual Violence Resource Centre, 2015) and predicated on power and control (Gravelin et al., 2019)." https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9136376/ |
For those in the back: sexual assault is a gendered crime that is disproportionately perpetrated by males against females |

There is research that shows as many as 1 in 4 college women will be sexually assaulted or harassed. So the ~15 women’s colleges are the problem, but not the 2500+ co-ed colleges where sexual violence is rampant and often unchecked for perpetrators. Got it…. The thinly veiled homophobia and transphobia with a small veneer of fetishization of lesbians/bisexual women is odd. The topic always comes up even without women’s colleges. But, there’s no fear of their precious straight boys experimenting. If your son is in a frat he’s at high risk of sexual violence, too. Don’t worry if your kid is LGBTQ+ or not. Just love them and be proud of them for going to college and doing what they want in safe and healthy manner. THAT’S what you’re there for. Take off the training wheels instead of breathing down their necks for goodness sake. You people disgust me for talking about young adults this way. |
No. Disproportionately perpetrated by males against males. Women only colleges has zero sexual assault crime |
Funnily enough, this is something that does happen and I'm sure it's a concern for mothers even though they'd never admit it. In an all female environment, there are straight identifying girls who will be attracted to and start experimenting with other girls, especially if those girls look a bit boyish. Most of the time this is a phase but sometimes it sticks. |
lots of middle eastern/ asian people like the women's only college model- esp if kids going to be super far from home. unlike westerners they dont think anyone "turns" LGBTQ + and have already factored that in to their calculus but are pretty conservative otherwise. |
Seems to be true. Lots of reported cases of sexual assault at some of the all female schools (female assaulting female). |
| DS is dating a girl who’s applying ED. |
Lol, no. I'm talking about consensual experimentation, which there is lots of. You're beyond delusional if you genuinely believe that there's an epidemic of lesbians assaulting straight girls at all girls schools. Sexual assault is overwhelmingly a male on female crime. It's still the boys at the coed schools that you need to worry about around your daughters. |
Certainly happened at Smith. So, believe what you want to believe, but others prefer to deal with reality. |

“I have been strongly considering Wellesley for my daughter“ Stopped reading after this. Land the helicopter. |
| The women's colleges we looked at were all near coed collleges. My DD is happy at one, and she is dating a boy at nearby college. All her closest friends at her women's college are also straight. Yes there are many women for are LGBTQ and it's a great place for them, but they are by no means the only people there. |
