Why are some parents so cold and unfriendly?

I rarely get this reception when I am wearing full makeup and a nice outfit and probably sending signals I’m successful and have some money. I don’t think it happens a lot when I’m WAH and wearing no makeup with my hair natural and I’m in leggings. I just shrug and move on. Can you imagine still thinking like that in your 40s?

That's interesting because I always think they're the rejects who wished they were the mean girls when they were young but didn't get the chance. Popular kids grow out of that by the time they're adults. At least the ones I knew did.

If it’s me… I am usually just tired. I know I need to do better, but the combo of being socially awkward, having worked all day, and dealing with some hard things makes casual socializing challenging sometimes. Probably need to force myself to be friendlier bc it’s better in the long run.

I would guess a lot of others are in the same boat, just not prioritizing making friends at the moment, for better or worse.

If you sit next to me, I was suffering from a headache. Not my day to chat.

We all go through tough situations in life. The people who can't be friendly to others will not find much success in this world.
