if you lowered the tuition at Virginia Tech to $20 per credit, the demand would soar, but the quality of professors would be the same. |
| Why so much hate for BU on this board. It’s just weird. |
|
All of these schools are fine schools. |
I think it’s usually either someone who keeps repeating it without ever experiencing the school, or people who are stuck with outdated stereotypes. |
8%. |
| Take BU off the list. Most think it’s a joke. |
Same with Tulane. |
That ranking list isn't even correct. Wake is behind Northeastern. And no one believes Tulane's ranking. They just get hammered for being a rich kid college. But it is funny to pick 6 of the hardest universities in the country to get into, all of which receive tens of thousands of applicants, and somehow try to claim that they aren't prestigious. The OP has some serious issues. |
| This is such a silly thread. Nothing wrong with these schools,or U MD or VA Tech or any of the others mentioned. Smart kids find their way to all of them. Kids have to pick somewhere that picks them back. For some students these places are dream schools, for others they are back ups. This list seems random as there are literally dozens of schools of this caliber that could be put on this list. It doesn’t matter what others think of the schools. It’s how the students choose to spend their time there that matters. |
|
BU, BC, NEU, Tulane, Miami who cares. Lots of state flagships better.

Get out. This thread is only for the absurd. |
30% ED acceptance rate for NYU. And need aware. Apply ED, don’t check the box on the common app indicating you need aid, and if you want, go test optional. And voila, NYU is a safety. It’s the Tulane of the North! |
Because they can't get accepted. Tough admit. There's also a MAGA like dislike for international students. Most of the sub 20% acceptance rate privates get some hate. BU is a perennial top 50 college. People can hate all they want. Or go to non-flagship State U. |
