I lost 60 pounds in 5 months without using GLP-1.

A 2001 review found that VLCD has no serious harmful effect when done under medical supervision, for periods of 8–16 weeks with an average weight loss of 1.5-2.5 kg/week.[26] However, VLCD may increase the risk of developing gallstones if the fat content of VLCD is not sufficient, but data is lacking to know the precise amount of fat that is necessary to avoid gallstones formation.[26][27] Indeed, dietary fat stimulates gall bladder contraction, thus, if following a fat-free VLCD, the bladder does not empty.[26] Another potential side effect is constipation (depending on the fiber content of the diet).[23][28]

VLCD were not found to increase food cravings, and on the contrary, appear to reduce food cravings more than low-calorie diets.[29]

Would eating 700 calories and walking 30,000 steps a day be recommended? I don't actually think I have time to walk 30,000 steps. Right now I am about 15,000 and that is walking the dog a few times and running around after my kids. But I could certainly do 700 calories. Or should I decrease it even more because I can't walk 30,000 steps?

Please. please, don’t take advice from the crazy lazy who did/is doing this. She clearly did not “talk to her doctor” and the amount of bone loss she probably has will be apparent soon enough. 700 calories doesn’t sustain a person. And certainly with any type of activity being added to the mix you are basically depleting your body of all nutrients. This woman thinks she is “healthy” now because she is skinny. But I would bet her labs tell a very different story. Don’t do this to yourself. Also 5’7 at 150 is not even overweight.

I did my labs. I tested dozens and dozens of things. Everything was perfect except for ferritin which was too high. My doctor explained that cells were dumping ferretin into the bloodstream and that it will resolve. I did have temporary hair loss but I have a new a lot of new hair now.

my sibling is a very accomplished doctor and I talked to them throughout. this was on top of a dermatologist I visited for hairloss and who ordered tremendous amount of lab work.

a very low calorie diet would be like 1000-1200. 700 calories is not a very low calorie diet-it’s starving/eating disorder.

very low calories diet is under 800 kcal. there are a lot of papers on this, and it's on that wikipedia link.

1000-1200 is maintenance level calories for someone weighing say 110-120 lbs.

I have a family member on your “plan”. The OCD and ED is only the tip of the iceberg.

Super fun to spend time with someone who does not sit or stop walking until bedtime.

Literally cannot eat or still without having a panic attack.

OP This post is attention seeking. You mentioned you weren’t advocating and just sharing your story. And then you push back when anyone tells you something you don’t want to hear. You lost weight. You did it in an extremely unhealthy way. Own that. It’s not healthy and no normal person is going to believe it is. No medical professional who wants to keep their medical license would support this. You are happy because you lost weight. great. but own that you did it starving yourself. And before you go on about “eating 700 calories isn’t starving yourself” it is when you are walking 30k steps a day which puts you in negative calories not even accounting for the calories we burn in a day by just existing.

It is what it is-An extremely unhealthy and harmful way to lose weight. But yah-of course it works. It worked because you were in a severe calorie deficit.

I don't understand OP thinking she has made a groundbreaking discovery of anorexia.

Yes, starvation leads to weight loss. News at eleven.

Do people think anorexia means eating zero or something?

Aren't you lightheaded and dizzy all the time?

it is an extreme way to lose weight. unhealthy? harmful? to you or 95% of fat people maybe but not to OP, according to her lab results/drs visits.

OP here. I don’t have anorexia. I am now 130 lbs and I eat 1000-1100 calories. My October steps were 23.4k per day. I also do weight training 3 times per week. I am full of energy and very productive.

My October steps were 23.4k per day. I also do weight training 3 times per week. I am full of energy and very productive despite the fact that I have a raging eating disorder.

Fixed that for you.

okay… please provide your source for the claim that eating 1000-1200 is considered very low calorie diet.

Except the way you lost weight is pretty much textbook anorexia. But ok. Just because you keep telling yourself and others that it’s not doesn’t make it true. You know who else says they don’t have it? Those in the hospital or in rehab being treated for it.
