Good job, Free Britney! Yay!

She may have addiction issues and a mental illness but so do millions of Americans...they don't get put under conservatorships. She is lucky to have full-time security guards and a ton of money that will take her another decade to spend down even if she spends like a maniac.

She needs a conservatorship or longterm hospitalization.

Kanye west also reportedly has uncontrolled mental illness, behaves very erratically and spends like crazy. Why does the conversation around Britney go immediately to conservatorship? I’ve never heard mention of a conservatorship with respect to Kanye.

Kanye is bipolar but it doesn’t appear that he has put himself or his kids in any danger or that he has a substance abuse problem

It was determined she has a severe mental illness and lack of understanding of her actions and behavior . She doesn’t remember what she does. That’s how bad her mental state is

Kanye rakes in a lot more money than Britney and probably has more competent financial management.

So the ultimate criteria for conservatorship is your ability to manage your own finances competently? If so, 1/3 of Americans should be under conservatorships

Do you know how many dogs Britney bought and then they disappeared? South Park or one of those jokes made a skit about it.

Britney can’t even take care of animals properly and she had two babies under her care that were in danger . She was reported for dangerous behavior to CPS by her nannies . K Fed didn’t want the boys originally. He was partying in Vegas with his rap career and DJ’ing at first. He had to quit and take emergency custody because Britney was considered a danger to the boys and herself. Britney’s own mom took KFeds side in the custody battle over her multi millionaire daughter . This enraged Britney and she cut off her mom from all contact. Jamie Lynne gets pregnant somehow in the midst of this. Lynne begged her ex husband Jamie who didn’t want to get involved to move to LA and save Britney. They were approached by this woman named Lou Taylor who was hunting Britney down to manage her. She proposed the conservatorship idea to Jamie and masterminded this whole thing. Apparently, they may have dated as well. Lou and Jamie took some born again Christian trip to get baptized in Israel.

Britney doesn’t have a cell phone, debit card, passport, car, or even a private bathroom to herself in 13 years. Every boyfriend she’s had was picked out by her father and the conservatorship including the ex husband Sam.

I can see why all these circumstances have made her angry and crazier than before but her fans are whitewashing the story when they pretend like Britney wasn’t crazy in 2006 and 2007.

Even going back to the 2004 quickie wedding and annulment, her team was publicly saying Britney had a problem with substance abuse and rash decisions and not remembering or understanding her actions

This is deeply sad but entirely foreseeable. I wish I could call out all the posters who attacked me in the long threads on Britney’s conservatorship when I spoke from my years of experience in court and argued that most of what Jamie was doing was sincerely for the best interests of his daughter.

Does anyone really think her lawyer who has milked her for $4 million so she could pay $2 million more to Jamie’s lawyers has her best interests at heart?

Britney’s fall is going to be epic.

Does anyone really think she would be worse off right now if she was rehearsing regularly for a residency in Vegas while taking meds daily and seeing therapists weekly?

The only conditions of her conservatorship that anyone could seriously challenge as untoward was the requirement to use effective birth control. Yet I don’t think anyone could responsibly argue that she should have had more children in this lifetime.

Good thing her sons are nearly grown, sounds like she’ll be too poor for child support soon enough.

Her father was taking advantage of the conservatorship. If she wants to waste her money and do drugs all day then let her.

How did he take advantage? He was paid 100k a year to be the conservator which is an actual job.

Jamie hates California. He’s always in Louisiana

I thought he also got a cut of every tour deal. Huge conflict of interest.

Jamie Lynn was using the money as well. Super inappropriate. I rather she blow the money then have her family steal from her

I don’t think it’s the money. The entire family lives in Louisiana still. They don’t care about the money as much as they care about their daughter. They don’t want her to die or go to jail.

Anyone who has ever dealt with a severely mentally ill friend or family member during a manic phase understands the fear of waking up to a phone call that your loved one died, killed someone, killed themselves, was arrested, or is comatose from a bad drug overdose. All of these things are likely to happen to Britney. Britney’s family did s great thing stepping in. Whitney Houston’s family tried to pray for her to stop and conquer her battles and were too scared to tell her she shouldn’t have custody of Bobbi Kristina and look what happened . Both mother and daughter died from drugs .

Sometimes family needs to be a bad guy to get someone that’s out of control and manic like Britney in line . Jamie didn’t mind playing that role as he was always villainized by Britney anyway

If Britney’s family really cared for her, why did they encourage and force her to keep performing rather than actually rest and heal? Why did they take her money to fund their stupid ideas (Jamie’s tour bus food truck anyone?) and pay off their exes? Take as a counter example Amanda Bynes’ conservatorship where her mom pulled her out of the public eye entirely and when she experimented with living independently and had problems as a result she had enough trust in the medical profession to call and get help again. Britney might have benefited from a conservatorship in the abstract but she definitely didn’t benefit from the one she got.

It's possible to believe all these things, and I do:
-The conservatorship was needed at the time.
-Britney's rights were not protected when the conservatorship was established. She didn't receive the proper notice before it was implemented and she didn't have the right to obtain her own counsel. Even criminals receive these basic elements of due process.
-Some things about the conservatorship were good, like making her take her medication.
-Her father also wildly abused the conservatorship powers and abused Britney herself.
-The conservatorship, as it existed, needed to end.
-She's currently acting in a very trashy, trainwrecky way that is sad to see.
-But doesn't currently meet the legal standard for a conservatorship. Her trashy behavior is not that different from many other celebrities.

It all could have been different if the conservator had actually put the conservatee first and focused everything on her mental and physical help and helping her become independent and live a good life.

This sounds like pure projection. Anyone who’s had read anything about her childhood will tell you he’s not a nice or good person.

He’s not a nice person but neither is Britney. Her dad was a gun toting abusive alcoholic but Britney according to her sons and ex husband would wield knives above their beds when they’re sleeping snd curse and insult them when she was angry too.

She got her toxicity from her father . I don’t think her story will end well . She’s going to get physical with the wrong man and it won’t be pretty.

It seems a domestic fight already happened at the hotel the other day with this ex con boyfriend she has.

Could you imagine how her sons feel? They probably feel like they’re the parent and Britney’s their child

Touring was important for Britney because firstly, She owed her record label money and secondly she was going broke toward the beginning of the conservatorship in 2007 . So many of her friends and boyfriends stole her money and she blew money on hotels, vacations, shopping, partying, drugs.

She had a cancelled tour from a broken leg in 2004 during the KFed days that cost millions as well. Her records weren’t selling as much as they used to during the late 90s/early 00s. Without record sales, artists can only make real money by going on tour.

That’s what she did. It’s better than keeping her locked in a gilded cage and feeling isolated at home. She was able to interact with people, exercise, be sober, and tire herself on stage and sleep at a reasonable hour. It’s better than what she’s doing now

You talk about her as if she were a dog.

Sure, it would be nice, if once medicated, her team spoke to her, like a human being, and created a plan for a tour that she wanted to do (given that she once loved to perform, she may not have been opposed to this), on terms that didn't physically exhaust her, with lots of breaks for her and lots of input from her. That's not what seems to have occurred.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12181179/amp/Britney-Spears-family-say-fear-METH-die-like-Amy-Winehouse.html

But after spending nine months working with the wider Spears family – Britney's parents, her brother, her former husband and her children – for a new documentary, I'm sorry to say the situation is more deeply troubling than even we had guessed.

'I fear she's on meth – I've been praying someone would make it public and that she wakes up,' Kevin Federline, her ex- husband and father of their two sons, told me. 'It's terrifying. She is the mother of my boys.'

Her sons, Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, are refusing to meet their mother, claiming they have seen drugs being delivered to her house.

Her family are scared, with Britney's father, Jamie, telling me he worries she will meet the same fate as English singer Amy Winehouse, who died at the tragically young age of 27.

Having spent time with both families – Amy's in the three years before her death and Britney's over the past year – I can see disturbing parallels.

And as her ex-husband put it several times: 'Every time the telephone rings, I fear that there will be devastating news.

'I don't want the boys to wake up one morning and find their mother has taken an overdose.'

Having cut off her family after her conservatorship ended, accusing Jamie – the arrangement's instigator – of being 'abusive', 'bullying her' and even forcing her to take birth control, she has left them powerless to intervene.

In one frightening stay at Britney's home, they say they found her standing near the door of Jayden's bedroom in the middle of the night – with a kitchen blade in her hand. 'She was standing there with a knife,' Jayden told his dad.

Anonymous
During a custody hearing in 2007, a California judge described her as 'a habitual, frequent and continuous' user of alcohol and prescription drugs.

Kevin told me that at one point, when the boys were still babies, he instructed his lawyers to warn Britney not to breast feed them while on drugs.

In August, I disclosed in The Mail on Sunday that the boys had decided not to see their mother until she finds help. They have kept their word.

They told me that they had been through many traumatic experiences with her over the years.

And things did not improve as they grew older. They claim, for example, that she attempted to continue bathing them when they were age 11 and 12.

In one frightening stay at Britney's home, they say they found her standing near the door of Jayden's bedroom in the middle of the night – with a kitchen blade in her hand. 'She was standing there with a knife,' Jayden told his dad.

Bright, attractive and well-mannered, Jayden and Preston have told me they are not angry, just concerned for her wellbeing and desperate for her to get the help they believe she needs. The response to our MoS article was dramatic. Britney took to social media and attacked her sons like a wounded animal. Jayden received heated phone calls from her while he was at school and stopped answering her calls and texts.

Contact has not completely stopped. Preston called her on December 2 to wish her a happy birthday. He told us that they've had good conversations on the phone – but when she asked him to visit he said he was not ready for it and that he was focusing on school and his future.

That’s exactly what they did. Britney wasn’t touring every day. Britney overexaggerates. She was off more of the time than she was working. She wanted to do Vegas instead of touring to be close to the boys so they accommodated for that. She didn’t want to do the old songs her fans liked and wanted to tour with more recent material so that’s what was done. She doesn’t want to sing live so her mic is turned off. They do everything the way she wants it so she doesn’t have a breakdown .

Britney is a master manipulator so now she fools her fans into thinking she was forced to perform every single night and stay for countless hours in the recording studio daily when that is not true. They bended over backwards for her And exceeded the duties of conservators. She wanted boyfriends so they made sure she had men they vetted for drugs , alcohol, and criminal history .

Why? Well, look at how she’s dating now . She went straight back to ex cons and no doubt is getting drugs and doing them again .

Her kids ,who never speak to the media , have spoken out publicly about their concern for their mom hoping maybe that might scare her . She doesn’t care.

Unfortunately, she was in prison for 13 years but it didn’t reform her. It’s made her a better criminal. Punishment either reforms or makes you worse than before.

Kanye west also reportedly has uncontrolled mental illness, behaves very erratically and spends like crazy. Why does the conversation around Britney go immediately to conservatorship? I’ve never heard mention of a conservatorship with respect to Kanye.

A lot of you seem unable to use common sense.

1. Kanye literally has no one to look after him. The single mom who raised him is dead, his old friends like Jay-Z have distanced themselves, and the Kardashian Koven has thrown him away now that they’re done using him. There’s no one to seek a conservatorship because no one cares for him.

2. Conservatorships are for people who need protection. Kanye is the serial victimizer in his situation, as most mentally ill men are. It stands to reason that Kanye is perceived as not needing a conservatorship because HE is the threat to others. Others aren’t a threat to him and there’s no evidence he’s a threat to himself, completely out of touch with reality (sorry, disliking his views doesn’t mean he no longer comprehends reality) or too strung out on drugs to function.

Similar to how MIA is mentally unstable and lost custody of her son, but no one talks conservatorship with her because there’s no evidence she’s being taken advantage of, as opposed to being aggressive and paranoid towards others. Like Kanye, there’s also no evidence that MIA is a danger to herself or too strung out on drugs to function.

I can't think of another celebrity who repeatedly posts videos with haunting, sad, teary eyes while
performing sexual moves and dances practically naked. It's beyond sad and disturbing. It's like watching people pace in a psychiatric ward

The thing is, if someone is controlled down to their meals for years, they might blow a gasket. She obviously has some issues but some of what she did sounds like a normal human response to being controlled, abused, and micromanaged as an adult for more than a decade. But, since she’s a woman, people are quick to write her off as the problem and assume the best of her dad, despite the fact that there’s way more evidence that he was abusive and controlling than there is that she’s on any drugs at all.

“Woman crazy, man hero” story has played out dozens of times and Taylor Swift has written more than a few songs about it.

I’m sure she needed help. But not from her dad - or any of the men in her life, apparently.
