Are there any genuinely normal, well-adjusted celebrities

Anonymous
I think it’s getting harder and harder to be somewhat normal as social media takes over the world. And of course, we are more informed because of social media, so it’s like an ouroboros. Amanda Bynes, britney spears, Lindsay Lohan, Kanye, etc. All driven mad by fame. You have to have a very firm understanding of who you are and what matters to you to withstand the scrutiny and and judgment of the public that feeds you. And who has those qualities before the age of 25/30? Pretty much no one.

Who is MG?

Katie Couric

Matt Damon
Chris Evans
Seth Meyers
Adam Sandler
Conan O'Brien
Mick Jagger
Adam Sandler
Ron Howard
Laura Linney
Barbra Streisand (despite her Ozempic comment)
Cynthia Nixon
Lisa Kudrow

I have to run but there are more

I forgot one - Zach Braff. I will say in almost all cases these people are also well-educated

Didn't Braff date Florence Pugh? She's half his age. Also he's almost 50 and is unmarried and no kids. That's not a crime, but becoming a permanent bachelor and then dating young ingenue actresses after directing them in short films does not scream "genuinely normal, well-adjusted."

But he did go to Northwestern.

Yes, but FloPo is no shrinking violet. She's a very strong, smart woman with a lot of strong connections to her family. I think they were genuinely okay together. They seem to have parted on okay terms - I've seen them speak kindly to each other via social media post-breakup.

If you met a 49 year old man who was never married, but professionally successful, and found out he was dating a woman in her mid-20s who worked for him, would you think "well she's a very strong, smart woman with a good family and they seem happy, this guy is probably very well-adjusted."

We get it, you have a little crush on Zach Braff. That's fine. But he's a commitmentphobe with a penchant for much younger women. Come on.

Snoop did that interview with puppies thing and he is the only celebrity who did it sitting on a couch, rather than on the floor. I am guessing he refused to sit on the floor with the puppies. That's not normal.

Harry, who I love madly, deeply, and would marry if he asked, is not normal. At 16 his life changed and he has indulged a lot in what he can now access. He doesn't do anything normally.

So it’s not normal to not want a dog to poop and pee on you? 🤔

Harry is one of the few celebrities that takes public transportation and doesn’t have bodyguards or handlers with him when he’s out in public. Which is remarkable considering Harry’s fans are just as crazy as Swifties.

Everyone else just gets down on the floor. And they don't pee and poo on you - have you never spent time with puppies? They won't go to the bathroom ON a person. Near, yes. On, no. Every other celebrity risks it.

This is a weird thing to fixate on. Normal people make choices like this all the time. A normal, well-adjusted person might not want to sit on the floor because they are nursing a knee or back injury and don't want to get back up. They might be wearing clothes that make sitting on the floor uncomfortable.

Also, I know this is going to blow your mind, but there are normal, well-adjusted people who don't even like dogs.

+1 He's not a kid. Could have knee, hip or back problems that make it uncomfortable to sit on the floor.

A few act like they’re in witness protection wearing caps and sunglasses everywhere even though there’s no one to see them and none of the other parents care. The more relaxed/normal ones are easy to spot and are genuinely open and nice. My kid is friends with several celeb kids and when they spend time at their homes they say the parents are nice, normal moms and dads.

This post is useless without names!

Emily Blunt is in the wpp
Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie Gyllenhaal seem pretty normal and down to earth.

People say Maggie gylenhaal is actually incredibly rude.

A good friend of mine grew up with Maggie and Jake and has always said he was shy/nice and she was a huge jerk even when they were kids.

But also people are complex and I don't think any one person's experience is definitive. I actually think how celebs treat fans is not the best measure for how down to earth they are, because interacting with a fan as a celebrity is a very weird and specific experience. You could be a very down to earth person and come off as rude and aloof to fans because lots of down to earth people don't like being accosted by strangers on the street. Meanwhile there are people who are famous for being very kind to fans and they are likely very good at projecting a fake version of themselves that seems authentic because I think that's the only way to graciously deal with being very recognizable. That's impressive, but not "normal."

I was the student of a famous author. This person was snobby and highly critical of everyone and everything. I was at an event and watched them be very polite and present with fans, the kind of Hoi polloi that they rolled their eyes at. Taught me a lesson about public versus private faces.

It's not like anyone forced him to do the puppy thing? If you don't like dogs, just don't do the video (or shoot them in the face)

I met a lot of celebrities. One who surprised me was Paul Reiser. I met him in LA when I was by myself. I said Hi, mentioned I am also from NY and that my Aunt actually lives in the same apt complex he lived in back in NY. We ended up talking 20 minutes, joking and laughing. Mind you he had a hit network TV show at time.

Tracy Chapman! She keeps her circle very small and tight.
