Anyone else disappointed about graduation?

I would totally skip it. I have a junior and they don’t want to go. MCPS is embarrassing

MCPS absolutely needs to build a venue to host graduations and dances. The amount spent renting facilities would easily cover it in just a few years.

That’a absurd. Have you really thought about how big Montgomery county is and how many HSs there are?

UMBC is pretty big and empty, but I guess that's because the graduation location is a basketball arena.

Be happy you are almost done. It's not in your county but you are having a ceremony nonetheless.

Why does it have to be indoors? Colleges have graduations outdoors all the time.

And so have HS. Some are this year again having it outside at their own HS. Need Indoor because apparently district can't purchase enough tents for inclement weather.

What about a rain date?

My HS graduation was outside and it rained and we all survived.

And you walked 5 miles to school each way every day too, right?

No. Took a bus. Graduation is one day

Not having graduation at your high school is really weird. If you want to build massive schools, have capacity at the football field for these type of events.

It was working out fine for most HS who pivoted to football fields for the last two years.

Football fields most expensive it seems. Not sure how though?

HS is most logical. Livestream in this day and age for grandparents and other relatives.
