Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| Does anyone have experience with this school, especially the K. It is in falls Church, but borders McLean so the kids zoned to go are both from Falls Church and Mclean. In talking with some neighbors, it seems some folks who are zoned for it seem to avoid it in favor of private or parochial schools or try to get into the Kent Gardens immersion program. also heard the K class size is rather large. But have not heard anything specifically bad about it. On the other hand, other people do not seem to bothered and don't have any qualms about going there. Can anyone who actually went there, or is considering it comment on their likes and dislikes. THanks |
| I know nothing about this school but just want to say that just because one year's K class size is big does not mean the following year's class size will be big. They really have nothing to do with one another. At my school last year's K class size was right at 30 kids pushing 31 or 32 as more students entered throughout the year. This year's K classes have 24 each. It all depends on the number of students in the grade. |

Westgate gets a 9 on GreatSchools, which is impressive given the relatively large percentage of ESOL students who attend the school:
