| Anyone know anything? |
| is this true or a rumor??? |
| wow - |
|
Isn't this the same principal who tried to railroad the counselor out of the school despite the fact that the parents wanted it and the PTA was willing to pay for it? And she wanted to replace her 1/2 time with a social worker instead?
She deserved to go. |
OP here, and it's true. Principal left a vm tonight. All she said about herself was that she was resigning from DCPS. She said Ms. Rabiah was taking a non-admin job so she could spend more time with her family (she has an infant). So we all know that much. Just curious if anyone knew anything more. |
| Someone on another post implied that the principal leaving would cause fewer people to leave the school next year? Those of you at Murch, do you think that's true or is it just the opposite? Does this reflect some instability that will drive people away, or was the principal and AP so unpopular that their leaving will result in fewer families moving kids to privates? |
| To the PP, it will make no difference. Murch is a great school, it was a great school before this principal got here, and it will continue to be a great school after she leaves. |
I'm sure it is, but that's not what I asked. |
| They have cut down several trees to make room for trailers, anyone know what is up with that? |
| There are going to be more classrooms than there is space for in the building based on current and projected numbers. I believe 5k, 4 first grade, 4 second grades (I think that is 2 classroom increase) . Many of the trees were relocated to the Reno road side of the property. |
I don't know that there was going to be an exodus of families- Murch has phenomenal teachers. BUT, of the scenarios you gave, I'd say it's the latter. |
I'll go you one better. I think it will be a greater school after she leaves. |
| Why was the principal so unpopular? How many years has she served at the school? |
| There are several threads in the forum devoted to the offenses of this prinicpal...I'm not a Murch parent so I don't know first hand. But from what I've read it seems to come down to disrespectful behavior towards teachers and being dimissive of parents. |
| I am a Murch parent. Based on what our child's K teacher told us today, there will be 5 first grade classes next year, not 4. it does not look like children are leaving the school |
