I need a church for Sunday Service

Anonymous
We'll be visiting the area and I would love to go to an Easter Sunday Service. We'll be in Arlington.

What's your church doing? DH is not a believer and he is willing to come with me. Hooray!

Our church in DC will have an 11am service. It's metro-accessible, downtown. Check out the website lutherplace.org

If he doesn't believe, why bother, just to keep you company? Leave the seat for someone who does believe and attends regularly.

Oh, please. Do you think Jesus would encourage someone not to attend? Easter is His day, and you know he welcomes all who come.

Oh My God, what a major jerk!!!!

So you don't believe in spreading the word? What kind of Christianity you practice? Please let me know so I can run away from such kind.

It's pretty unbelievable how many you will see packing the church Sunday, OP. Standing room only. Which is a joke considering how people here act the other 364 days a year (see PP). Also a joke to find every last person saving entire rows of seats, and to hell with everyone else. Anyway, try to enjoy. What denomination, OP?

If you just want magnificent pageantry go big Catholic like St. Matthew's on Rhode Island Ave? near Dupont--JFK's funeral was there. Protestant pageantry will be at the-stuffed-to-the-gills National Cathedral or nearb yLittle St. Alban's Church (not so little). Trinity in Georgetown is also incense-y and beautiful. The Eastern Orthodox Easter ceremony is Old World beauty if you like that and the A.M.E Zion Baptist will have the most beautiful, decked out black people on the planet.

St Charles in Clarendon (Catholic) could be one choice- they are very welcoming. There's also the Unitarian church on 50 (Arlington again) that will have a special service. I think there is some kind of web site that reviews churches by locality.

Whatever church you choose, please don't listen to the second poster/troll. No one in their right mind or heart would ever make such a comment.

Good luck.

Actually it might be more important for someone who doesn't believe to attend than for someone who does! All are welcome at any mainstream christian church OP! Please do bring your DH!
