Protests on college campuses

My God. If Columbia doesn’t make the rioters pay for ALL damages - as well as expel ALL rioters, then I guess it will be clear who’s running the show.

I cringe every time one of the student protestors is interviewed - they sound like such idiot puppets. They have no idea what they are even asking for or how their so called demands would make any sort of difference in the Middle East.

Exactly. They are merely Hamas’s useful idiots. I wonder when they’ll realize this.

Even if a college divests, nothing changes. Like, literally nothing.

Protest peacefully in Washington. Lobby your reps on the Hill.

If you just want to cosplay “activist” on your parent’s dime instead of studying for exams, then do it in DC. At least it will be somewhat effective.

People don't want to do that in this instance for the repercussions of being labeled antisemitic or pro-Hamas or losing their job. That's why it will come out at the ballot box.*

For comparison, I was in this crowd of 100K on 10/26/2002 for the ANSWER rally to protest the looming war with Iraq. For comparison, I looked up the total death count by that point: about 22,000 Afghans. So not even close to the total death count in Palestine we've already unfortunately seen.

Bush did what he wanted and another 250K to 380K civilians died.

Here's the rally for those who want to relive, there was also a march: https://www.c-span.org/video/?173521-1/anti-war-rally

*AP polling as of early February (so undoubtedly much higher) showed...
"Half of US adults say the military response from Israel in the Gaza Strip has gone too far, up from November" and
Only "31% of U.S. adults approve of Biden’s handling of the conflict, including just 46% of Democrats"

Ok.

And which American presidential candidate will handle things differently/better…recognizing we really don’t have any control over what Israel does?

Biden stands with Israel.

Trump will, too.

So, is there someone you think has the silver bullet?

So, just leave Israel unchecked? Throw up our hands? I think most people in the world would hope people would protest 35K civilians dead in 6 months.

Um, do you not follow the news?

ICYMI: The US and the UK are working tirelessly to get this under control. Google it. Heavy coverage starting 48 hours ago. Go educate yourself on what the sane leaders from the civilized countries are doing to put an end to the suffering.

Nobody is leaving Israel unchecked. All of this is just more complicated at the local, regional, and global levels than you realize.

They're not following the news. The read sound-bites and parrot them over and over again.
Most of the people who can't go thirty seconds without barking out "Zionist" don't even know what a Zionist is and hadn't heard the term a year ago.

They are not following our carefully curated propaganda.

It’s ok, they’re following Hamas’s talking points and tactics. Well done, morons!

The kids understand the fascist surveillance state has been here for a while.

Yet they’re staring at their phones? Make it make sense.

I'll make it make sense for you. They don't know what "fascist surveillance state" means.

This is the culmination of raising entire generations of people on social media that has bombarded them for 20+ years since they came out of the womb with messages that they're victims, everyone belongs to certain factions, and anyone not in your camp is an enemy.

Social media is toxic.

I just love how the idiot rioters who took over the Columbia building were shouting, “Intifada!! Intifada!!” as the police closed in.

Instead of making destructive college students pay for the damage they cause, let's cancel all of their debt and let the American taxpayer pick up the tab. This is the only rational thing to do.

Kick the students out, cut funding to colleges that preach anti-American and antisemitism. Lock up those who stormed Columbia . Problem solved

I think I heard Joe Biden say that. Or, something like that..........

1. They will be expelled if a current Columbia student participated in the break in and vandalism of the Hall, plus Columbia will ask NYC to press charges. Their actions violate multiple elements of the student Code of Conduct.

2. I will be surprised if more than 30% of the people who barricaded themselves in the Hall are actual Columbia students. There's a huge outside protestor element involved in this.

So, where is Biden's DOJ during all of this?

Some - not all - of these protesters are in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance.

They have prevented students from going to areas on campus, they have chanted antisemitic rhetoric, held antisemitic signs, and threatened, harassed, and attacked Jewish students.

Where is the DOJ?

I hope you are right on #1, but I have no hope that this will actually happen.
Any who were NOT students also need to be criminally charged.
And, the DOJ should be investigating where these people are getting their funding.

.

I mean you really think you can defend Netanyahu??? Is there a bigger a-hole in the ME than Netanyahu? I don’t think so.

NP- there may not be a BIGGER a-hole in the ME, but there’s a lot of competition for that title.

As far as I can tell, none of them care much about the people they are supposed to be leading/caring for. Some of the ones who did, lost their lives for it.

Sure, and while we are at it let’s crown Netanyahu the emperor of America.

Anti American are those who shipped billions of dollars worth of weapons to Israel in a single night without a single policy discussion, this is unprecedented. Anti American are those who want to continue to support Israel at the expense of U.S foreign policy, Anti American are those who are putting targets on the backs of American citizens just so Israel can continue with its genocide.

Last but not the least, Anti American are those who have a bigger loyalty to Israel than America.

Now, what do you want to do these Anti Americans?
