I have no idea where the “he won’t let me go” Jolie PR comes from. He sued her because she screwed him over by selling her part of their family home and winery. I’ve never heard someone claim that someone wouldn’t let them go because they sued them over a business dispute.

This article says the kids bedroom is still as it was in 2016. From where do you get the information that her office is the same? He obviously misses his children, but I don’t understand your contention that he is pining for Angelina. Their marriage was incredibly toxic and essentially over by the time of the plane flight.
