Worth the extra $$$?
TIA. |
| We used it on a room we were painting red because I'd heard red paint could be a nightmare (i.e. streaky, needing 5+ coats, etc.). We ended up needing only two coats and the room looks great. But who knows? Maybe cheap paint would have done just as well. |
| Loved it. Used it for our kitchen. It is more expensive, but we needed only one gallon, one coat. It doesn't smell. |
| We used it to cover up a really dark blue paint in our bedroom. Really good job, only needed 2 coats and no primer. |

Love it. I've used it in several rooms. I think if you are an amateur painter it is definitely worth the $ as it goes on so well and lies flat. I had a much harder time in our DR using another paint and getting runny streaks.
Another plus of Aura is the limited color selection (the colors are nice and go together). I like having fewer choices. |
| Used it in the bathroom and for some reason the color ran and there are weird little gobs of dye on the surface. Kind of looks gross. My husband thinks we didn't let it dry enough before showering; I think it is the wrong pant for high-moisture areas. Who knows. |
You need to get Aura paint for bathrooms. There is a different formulation for high moisture areas. |
| The best paint out there. If you are tackling the job yourself, spend the extra money and save yourself hours, no second coat if you are generous with the first. We painted over a dark red without a primer and only had to use one coat. Made the mistake of using ordinary paint for another room and after the second coat still needed to do touch ups. |
| Our new home was entirely painted in Aurora, by a post-construction contractor. The colors really pop, it's very easy to clean if marked (soap/water), and touch-ups are a breeze if it gets scratched, just blends. Definitely worth it...If you're already going BM, the marginal cost isn't huge. |
| Agree with PP, our whole house was done in Aura and we LOVE it! Our painters loved it too. No smell at all and I am really sensitive and was 6 mos pregnant. |
