Views on Bethesda Country Day - candid, please?

I am planning to send my son to Bethesda Country Day -- he's 4 but has a late fall birthday -- for part of the summer camp and fall 2008 sessions. I toured on an open house weekend, and the classrooms seem fine but not spectacular. I wasn't able to get a real sense of the teachers and the 'feel' of the school. We just moved off cap. hill in DC, and the program my child is in now is terrific -- but I can't do the commute one more year, and most of my son's comrades are moving on to K or other private 'late' pre-K programs. I just saw a couple of very negative comments about BCCD and am now looking for some feedback from parents whose kids actually attend (or attended). Thanks in advance!
