Both. In 10th and 11th grades, they take MC courses at the HS, and in 12th grade, they take them on the MC campus. |
I DO NOT WANT woodward because it is art. I do NOT support Magnet concept. It is a terrible idea. |
so MCPS abdicates its responsibilities to montgomery college and pretends it is a good thing. MC is a terrible program. |
I'm ok with woodward arts so long as i don't get zoned there. you gotta be kidding that arts is a good thing |
"extremely smart"? but they and their parents have terrible judgment to enable mere hobbies as part of their high school education and college and life preparedness. lots of kids want to play soccer. they should have a soccer magnet too. give me a break. do art after school for fun |
+1 WJ will maintain APEX Reach and have humanities stuff. Woodward will be for painting and theater geeks. Maybe they can move WJ Stage to Woodward...that's probably one of the biggest waste of resources at current WJ. Also, the clearly want to bus higher performing acdemic kids to Wheaton and Kennedy. Math/Engineering and IB stuff are on that side of the tracks. |
I don't like some of the neighborhoods Woodward is pulling from. Hate to say it, but will anyway. I also don't like arts magnet. Also don't like the loss of advanced stuff. Not to mention, as others have above, the "Start up factor" will be very bumpy and that is when my kid will have to go. |
Well, I can't wait. My kid will be in the first class. |

2.75 GPA? lol. sounds rigorous. https://www.montgomerycollege.edu/high-school-students/dual-enrollment/degree-and-pathway-programs/middle-college-program.html |
NP. Wowwwww with this comment. |
NP #2. Yea, I agree with it. Don't you? |
| How many new options are we supposed to expect after Thanksgiving due to the closing of SSIM and SCES? Did they say at the board mtg? |
| So much negativity. |
No, definitely not. I think arts are important. |
