I'm the PP who said the album grew on me. I never listened to it "over and over and over" and that it then became great. My daughter is a fan, so yes, we listened to it a few times, as you do when new music comes out. It grew on me. Why is that so controversial that you have to berate people for it, and then play victim when people tell you to shut up? We get it. You read about exposure effect and you now have to beat everyone over the head with it. Ironic. |

I’m the PP who said I listen to it on repeat - because I liked it all so much the first time. It didn’t have to grow on me.
That poster is taking bits and pieces of people’s comments, adding it to their own bias, and creating a narrative of their own. They must be young because they sound very proud that they understand a very basic theory of social influence, persuasion, and advertising. |
At least you accepted science after the link was posted! |
You mentioned it over and over and over. |
Imagine making a hobby of telling people their opinion was wrong day after day after day. Crazed certainly does come to mind. Almost no music today will “stand the test of time” what a silly bar to hold Taylor Swift to and nobody else. |
No, I learned about that my freshman year of college about 30 years ago. |
You're trying awfully hard to insist that people can't possibly like something you do not. I've been exposed repeatedly to rap music, yet I still hate it. Same with a lot of country music. I think you're simply mad that you can't make people dislike something you dislike. It really upsets you. |
+100 Most of the TS songs that I *don't* like are the ones that were played all the time, back in the day (Shake it Off, Blank Space, etc.). Or, I shouldn't say I don't like them, I'm just tired of them. They were fun when they first came out, but nothing I'd choose to play now. My true favorites are the ones that never received that kind of play, that you have to deliberately find, and that weren't on her early albums. The PP is going to have a stroke trying to convince people that they couldn't possibly like what they like.

The album's not a flop - that particular song might be though. It's definitely cringe, IMO. But that's ok. Most albums have a few duds. *shrug* |
DP. I hate Wood, Actually Romantic, Elizabeth Taylor, Cancelled, and Father Figure. Love the others. |
Yep. The poor PP, wringing her hands over this. |
Still doubling down on your "brainwashing" comments? And calling others "crazed fanatics"? That's some impeccable projection.

+1 The PP is a perfect example of the Dunning-Kruger effect. |

I always have to listen to her albums a few times to decide if I like them or not. I like the new one better than the first half of her last one.
Wood is still not for me. Love Actually Romantic! My favorite song on the album. |
I like the clean version of Wood--seems more fun and less cringe. Elizabeth Taylor and Father Figure are all right by me. SHe does some deep diving on ET lore and I like that. Life of a Showgirl (sabrina, swoon!!,) Honey, and Opalite are my faves on it, though. NGL, I love to do the Ophelia dance! |
