Wow “Virgin River” is so bad! Like 1980’s Lifetime bad

And it's so basic in terms of plot that it requires very little thinking. You can totally drink wine, light a candle, relax and enjoy a little getaway in the comfort of your own home!

Except with none of the sparks or witty dialogue.

I'm a few eps in and it hasn't been questioned, but I suspect it's coming. Maybe none of these babies will end up being Jack's!

Wasn't there a suggestion in season 1 that she also hooked up with someone else when it was clear Jack wasn't reciprocating her feelings to the same degree?

I gave up after 2 seasons. Yuck!

The first season was decent, but it went steadily downhill after that.

So they finally made Mel look decent —hair/makeup/wardrobe ar3 all a big step up. But why is Jack skipping the hairstylist on set? He seems like he needs a wash, trim & blow dry.

Totally agree. Beyond corny lines. I couldn't make it past the first episode.

What?? I stopped watching after season two I think and I think she was pregnant then?

I saw a clip of season 4 last night and it was a scene where Mel is saying she is pregnant but not sure who the father is. So she did IVF with dead husband's sperm and also could be pregnant with Jack's baby?

Yes! Oh the drama. And dead husband’s mother (grandma) is suing for custody!! I could barely watch and could not stop watching!!

Episode 1: Why is Jack splitting wood that's already split?? Couldn't they give him something else to do?

And why in episode 2 did three recruitment soldiers come to the bar to tell the kid there was no news on his application to officer training?

And why in episode 1 is no one alarmed that a raccoon is licking the silverware at a restaurant table-- and during the daytime?? Have they never heard of rabies?

The MIL storyline was absurd (wouldn't have a legal leg to stand on) but I thought overall this season was much better than the last two. Hope actually became tolerable!

They do a better job than most at incorporating older actors and storylines. And the writers gave Doc and Hope more to work with this season. And the Jack actor is doing as best as can be done with his character.

I do love that they have older characters. My favorite shows are the ones that have a mixture of older and younger, like Only Murders in the Building, Grace and Frankie, The Kominsky Method, etc.
