Curious, to those familiar with their next year's roster, where (clubs) is the U13 team coming from?

How is it that in a county as large as Fairfax, no one can figure out how to field uniformly successful ECNL teams? I know there are several other options in neighboring counties. Is this area truly just oversaturated with clubs? There are so many kids here that I can't believe it's a lack of talent. Are kids on Arlington or VSA/PWSI second team, for example, choosing to play RL rather than FVU?

Wouldn't a good coach be able to develop kids that are more on the bubble, into players that can compete at that level? So seems it's either a lack of good coaching or a lack of talent identification. Maybe both?

Girls who have the skill to play ECNL are not choosing RL over FVU. FVU had plenty of RL girls come to their tryouts but you don’t see FVU girls willingly move to a RL team.

And it doesn’t count if a parent says “ my kid could play ECNL if they wanted”. No girl went to an FVU tryout, got an offer and then choose an RL team.

THat's strange because the older boys BRYC teams are just hopeless so the coaching at that club must be terrible.

Definitely had to have picked up players from outside the partner clubs.

I know of at least 4 girls who didnt accept FVU offers...U13 and U14- however you are correct on Vienna/Valor/BRYC filling the rosters (not sure about LVMS)- several left offers at FVU for GA clubs. (And FVU &SYC just announced supplemental tryouts so...that says something...) And PP is correct- saying you dont want ECNL is not the same as not taking an offer there.

Yes, what I know to be true on the girls side: 4-5 from loudoun (declined NVA). At least a couple 2015s from SYC. 4-5 Valor. 1-2 from GFR. A token 1-2 from VYS. Not sure where the remaining 10 girls are coming from, but we all know FVU likes large rosters.

Loudoun Yes, what I know to be true on the girls side: 4-5 from loudoun (declined NVA). At least a couple 2015s from SYC. 4-5 Valor. 1-2 from GFR. A token 1-2 from VYS. Not sure where the remaining 10 girls are coming from, but we all know FVU likes large rosters.

Which is further evidence the "Pathway" is a gimmick - ECNL teams will take the best players, regardless of where they played the year before.
