Yep!!

I am the PP of the 1-shoulder green anthro dress people liked as well as this bodycon dress. To me, this body con dress is so boring and expected, where as I think the anthro one is turn-heads stunning. IMO, the bodycon dress, depending on the wedding of course, will make you disappear into the crowd it's so boring. I also posted a few of the silky options, one from reformation with a very low back, because I think that's a good middle ground, but those got a lot of flack. Ultimately, OP needs to weigh in here to give some direction. Is your goal here how skanky am I allowed to dress at a nice wedding? Or do you want more of a show stopping dress that gets attention in a more sophisticated way?

OP hasn't posted in days because everyone arguing over an Adrianna Effing Papell dress in the year of our lord 2025 probably scared her off.

OP, I think you should do the second one here with the shoulders covered. It's modest but sexy, elegant but trendy, and I think it would look good on an hourglass figure with scrappy sandals and perfect hair/makeup.

Why is everyone trying to dress OP “modest”?????

Because this forum is filled with 50 year old women who weren't fashionable when they were 30, and mostly just troll the Beauty and Fashion Forum to, ironically, tell every poster that you shouldn't try to dress fashionably or flatteringly, but instead should aspire to not care about fashion at all. Mostly, they seem to think that wanting to look nice is a vice.

I've spent a lot of time on the dcum fashion forum over many many years, not because i've ever gotten any fashion advice, but because these nutty frumps are just as entertaining as the Relationships forum.

Yeah I'm always astounded at the frumpy recommendations. None of these will impress men. Men like dresses that the women here would hate-- cocktail mini sheaths, bandage dresses. Leaving nothing to the imagination. Think of a sorority party in 2006 and wear that.

this is why several of us suggested Reformation dresses

Except you suggested the frumpiest dress on reformations website

this is what I suggested : https://www.thereformation.com/products/briony-dress/1317086OXE.html?dwvar_1317086OXE_color=OXE

Posters have criticized it as too summery (I don’t agree) and not enough structure (I also don’t agree, and if one has a problem area, just wear some shapewear) but no one called it frumpy. I also suggested that OP peruse the Reformation website since she knows what styles look best on her, and to bring her BF with her and try some on to get a man’s opinion. But you know better.

That one is OK but maxi dress with a big floral pattern can definitely read as frumpy even with that neckline.

omg, i swear some posters just want to jump in to critique anything - the floral is just one of the colorways, it comes in several solid colors, too.

Other than the girl who posted Revolve/Shopbop links and the girl who posted the long reformation gown, and the girl who posted the one cute Anthro dress, do the rest of you understand there's a happy medium between dressing like a stripper and dressing like an orthodox grandma?

It would seem strange to dress otherwise in a winter church wedding.

Read the OP …

I did read the OP. Do you think the reception means you shouldn’t dress appropriately in a church building?
