A Middlebury parent would have a Middlebury graduate in under 4 years. Why would they care about a "slide"? |
The value of the degree slides too. Eventually, there will be a DCUM post: "Didn't Middlebury used to be a good school?" And then some old-timer (likely you from the retirement home), will regale everyone with tales of the olden days of 12k applicants, students clamoring to learn languages, and hordes of ED kids ready to be full pay and wait to start in February to help Middlebury with its scheme of hiding the stats of its academically middling rich kids. |
Grinnell is B-tier at best and has to bribe students with excessive merit aid to commit. Nowhere near the same ballpark. |
I'm curious about this person who hates middlebury SO much they invest all this time peppering every post on mid ever - or even a mid comment in another thread. This person must search "Middlebury" every morning and launch into it.
It's weird because if a kid is rejected, you might hold a grudge for a minute but who cares. And if your kid went to a school and didnt love it, again - that's not such a big deal. Happens a lot. Who really cares. So I can't really figure it out. Maybe they themselves interviewed for a job and didnt get it? |
Yeesh, you need to take your daily meds. |
Only looks that way to someone with an irrational hatred of Middlebury. We once has sympathy but we’re on to you and are quite happy that your kid didn’t get in. |
They’re consistent and they show up in pretty much every SLAC thread eventually. They need help. |
There is a cohort that starts second semester. Why is this an issue? |
I've had kids not to get into plenty of colleges and never really thought to take that momentary disappointment and turn into my whole personality as Middlebury Hater has chosen to do. I guess we all need hobbies! |
If you paid the average person $1,000 to tell you about Middlebury, they'd get zero. Hiring managers barely know. It's a small school in Vermont. Not worth the numerous threads. Maybe one booster? |
Mental illness somewhere in the mix for sure. |
Not a Middlebury parent, but I can do basic math. 🧮 |
Yeah, I'm sure the hiring managers at Goldman Sachs (president and COO, John Waldron, Middlebury) and Morgan Stanley (CEO, Ted Pick, Middlebury) have absolutely no idea what Middlebury is. |
The troll has never heard of those places. When you are living in your mom's single wide in an exurb of Des Moines, firms like that don't come up in conversation. |
Had less of an impact on your chances of getting any job at Goldman than you think it does -CMC parent |
