Now finished, and I can say it was one of the best books I've read in many, many years. Given other comments about it in this thread, it's divisive . . . but if it speaks to you like it did to the history buff in me, you will be glad you gave it a try.

Just finished listening to Kristin Hannah's "The Women"- it was wonderful. I learned so much about being a nurse during the war in Vietnam and what life was like for those returning to US from the war. Story was so engaging and I also couldn't put it down.
Loved The Nightingale. The Great Alone has been a TBR for a while now.

Am listening to "Delicious" by Ruth Reichl, a lighthearted foodie romp in NYC. Next up, Amor Towles "Table for Two".


I'm reading the women know - about half way through and I don't know...I have been able to put it down. I want to finish and read more about nurses in Vietnam, but I am disappointed.

Betty by Tiffany McDaniels - based on the childhood of her mother. It's both very sad, and fantastical. Life is hard and complex.
