First I think the Hitler comparison throws people off because he is the most well known and most extreme of authoritarians, but there are plenty of other examples of authoritarians that run on the same pattern.

Second, people without options are going to have to wait it out and go as a refugee if it gets that bad. We are more likely going to be living like Russia rather than nazi germany, but that’s not very good either.

Yes, Hitler is the extreme example. Would you prefer Franco? Pinochet? Mussolini? ETC…..

We're working on getting my children dual citizenship in another country via their father. I think it's the best thing I can do for them is to give them options.

Obstetricians are not used that much in Europe. Many women use midwives I had a midwife birth in the UK and it was the best and safest of my three deliveries.

This is BS. There might be some crunchy people there too (particularly in the UK) but everyone else goes to the hospital. I am from Europe and my entire extended family is there and all the friends i made before moving here at 30yr old. Not one person i know gave birth outside of a hospital. I have one friend who had the first kid in a warm pool (but still inside a hospital and with sn obgyn) and another did three vaginal births refusing pain medications, also in hospital with obgyn. I dont know anybody even acquaintances who just used midwives so it is certainly not widespread

I lived in the UK and most women deliver their babies using midwives IN the hospital.

And they will resist. Even the Russians did and they've been under Putin forever

This. I am from Europe, my parents and siblings live there. USA is still the best place to live and work. Europe is not the same what it used to be 20+ years ago. There are no jobs in Europe, people are not as open as people in USA, it's a different vibe over there. Europe is great for vacation, but working there is a different story.

Things are changing here. The country is regressing and probably won’t be a good place to live and work much longer. Make sure your parents keep your bedroom available, you might need it.
