I can’t wait to see how long it takes for the DCUM MAGA’s to start threads complaining about the black female track stars, like they already did for Simone and Coco. Who’s next? Sydney? Sha’Carri? They are burning up watching these ladies succeed.

This is one of the least likeable and least talented groups of Team USA ever. Our swimmers are weak, what happened to that program? Is the US even going to beat China this year? Very weak Team USA this Olympics.

I bet you can’t even walk around the block without huffing and puffing.

Don’t throw stones at Olympians.

I was like that until I found prescription goggles.

You'd think speedo or arena or tyr would be able to provide her with the latest goggles that include prescription lenses. It would be great advertising.

We would be doing better if more sports were open to kids whose parents were poor and didn't have the time/resources to travel all over creation for travel sports.

You don't know what people are thinking actually. People will comment on athletes. NBC shows the same swimmers and gymnast ad nauseum so that is who people are going to talk about. I didn’t see anyone say she is black she is out of place here. If you are too good for DCUM why do you use this site? The whole new trend of "you know how you DCUM people are..."accompanied by a stereotype is so odd, the ladies here are not going to be taken down a notch.

It's really funny to find out that both Steven and Rebecca Andrade in gymnastics choose to compete without glasses or contacts on. It's just easier for them to focus without them.

US men's medley loses for the first time in 12 Olympics to China. What a national disgrace. We have fallen behind in everything.

Except for using steroids to juice our athletes.

Used to be the Russians and the Germans who dominated the Olympic games. Now it will be China. US is a second-rate nation and competitor now.

And who would be taking these poorer kids "all over creation"? Professional coaches? Chaperones? And who would be monitoring these underage kids traveling all over with their paid adult "supervision"? Nothing has ever gone wrong in that type of set up
Parents are part of the equation for more reasons than just money. No one will look after a child better than their parent. Not always. Of course there are parents who physically and sexually abuse their kids but overall ... the vast majority of parents of all socioeconomic levels love their kids and need to be part of the equation.

Regarding poor kids who may have talent but no resources to pursue certain endeavors. A story as old as time. The chips fall where they fall. Life is unfair.

I’ve always worn glasses and when I skated (nowhere near the Olympic level lol) I never wore my glasses. It was part of the costume, made it easier to concentrate, and also I never got dizzy on spins without glasses.
