I don’t mind children of politicians going into politics anymore than I care about all the sons of my local car dealerships going into that business, or children of lawyers and doctors following in those footsteps. As long as you’re good at what you do and not just being enabled to be a talentless hack, you get to live your own life whether you want to follow your parents or not.

I don’t think Schlossberg is stupid, I just don’t think he completely understands how hard the whole planet can seem to turn on you and your whole family if the internet declares open season on you.

I had a classmate who went into national politics and my mom was beside herself for a long time about how it should have been me somehow … even though that’s not what I wanted to do. She called me a waste of an education because I really wanted to raise kids.

I just hope Schlossberg is able to absorb how much bad interests will really relish messing up his personal life.
