And yet, the US and its allies are trying to maintain those partnerships, while Russia, China and others are fighting against them. The US can still prevail, but unless or until we can figure out how government can "regulate" disinformation and how we can get money out of our politics, it will be a tough battle, but one worth fighting. |
Prevail at what? Russia China and Iran shouldn’t have become an Alliance in the first place. Russia shouldve been our friend. We pushed them to China by stupidly wanting to expand NATOs borders eastward and stating this In 2008. For what? Europeans don’t like to fight . Why did we have to expand NATO eastward? What for? It was only to provoke Russia. We didn’t like when Russians put soldiers in our backyard in Cuba so how did we ever expect expanding NATO and the EU would make them feel? Our biggest threat is actually China not Russia and we pushed Russia to China by being stupid . China , a very smart country, must be glad at our foolishness. |
Yep, the Thucydides trap says we're going to have to fight China. So the question becomes, if you have an inevitable conflict with China ahead, do you want Russia on your side or theirs? |
Russia's already a vassal of China. The way to defend against the Thuycydides Trap is by consolidating with our allies in NATO, ANZAC, and Japorea. |
Okay Neville |
Looks like Russia is up to something…

Ukraine was headed by a corrupt oligarch at the time, that’s why we didn’t want to support them. |
There is a lot of fun speculation on this out there (orbital nukes, anti-satellite weaponry, rods from gods, etc...), but given the timing of this aid package, its probably a nothingburger wrapped in hysteria to keep the money flowing. |
Not once Putin took over. His ambitions and methods are incompatible with friendship. Once the Russians kick him to the curb, then perhaps. |
Not in this case. Most of the money would stay in the U.S. where defense companies and their workers would get paid to make stuff that helps Ukraine fight off the Russian invasion. |
Convenient timing, just as Tucker wraps up his visit. I wonder what message he gave to Putin. |
+1 Besides, the Putin regimes mentality will alway be expansionist. You cannot claim the same of the EU. We cannot be allies with Russia. Or did 40 years of constant war with the UUSR teach you nothing whatsoever? |
Forty years of constant war? Bruh, it was called the cold war for a reason. |
