NP: A lot of Harvard people are kind of a drag đ â DH and I both didnât apply and wouldnât encourage our kid to either.
But sincere congrats to all the college results. While school name tells you very little about future paths, wishing all the kids the best. |
Iâm the Sidwell parent of a current senior. Among my DCâs friends (who have not posted on Instagram), I know of Sidwell seniors heading to Columbia, Penn (2), Cornell, Harvard, and Brown. |
The PPâs got a superior, condescending attitude but sheâs also right about the way people here are talking about kids. Itâs ridiculous. You can go back to your mimosa, dear. |
Spoiler: Itâs not. Shocker: kids from publics get into these schools too. |
| Repeat after me : congratulations, kids! |
I think they are butt hurt from last year. Lol Thatâs why the need to grossly âtruly, truly, amazingââ every 5 minutes. Our HS is big on humility so you never seen the kind of boasting like this (oh and they did so much better than GDS the last few yearsânot even a Big 3 or 5 or whatever). |
Frankly, a lot is made on DCUM of the money spent on private schools. We have just one kid and our HHI is high enough, thankfully, that we did not feel this to be an issue. That said, the last 4 years have been a real pressure cooker. Given current outcome - deferred - starting to wonder if the grind was worth it. School DC applied ED to was a reach, but not outrageously so. DC will survive of course, but is taking it hard for now. |

Itâs not just GDS. Itâs the whole private school forum. And you just boasted. |
+ Northwestern, Dartmouth |
If it was boasting, she would have named the school. The point is : thus us a wealthy area with the highest population of 4-year grads and grad degrees in the US. These outcomes are seen all over the DMV. |
| To quote Kendrick Lamar: B@tch, be humble. Sit down. Be humble. |
