A set of Allen wrenches

A bunch of 3M strips

Wine

Flowers

Duct tape

Champagne

A slice box opener

Not sure how I’d react if someone gave me duct tape and a box cutter for a housewarming gift. I would be…concerned…about having that person over again.

The duct tape would be meant to be funny but the box opener is really handy and a lot of people don’t know about them.

To each their own though because I hate candles and already have blankets.

Painting Party. My first house my Family and wife’s family before we moved in three a painting party.

I had almost 20 people painting, cleaning, hanging chandeliers for the day. We served pizza and beer. Did whole house living area. Landing, LR, DR and bedrooms and cleaned up.

My wife was 8 months pregnant with first. She supervised and did some.

I later finished up everything but so much easier

70 dollars for a candle?!?! It’s so funny.l, although my hi is in the top 5%, I can’t wrap my head around $70 for a candle.

they have a $44 version. This is the mercedes/audi of candles. If you want the honda civic version then you could get a yankee candle

I'd never buy MYSELF a $70 candle, but that's the fun of giving gifts -- you can buy your friends things they'd never buy themselves.

I like to give food such as local chocolates or baked goods, or flowers.

Definitely something consumable or gift card. A big no to a $70 candle.

that's what I thought as well, until I smelled it!

It depends on the relationship. If it’s a brand new neighbor, I do baked goods like muffins or scones. If I’m visiting a friend’s new home, I like to bring flowers and a gift card to either a local restaurant or Home Depot.

Was going to say this! Not very expensive (they are like $20-$30 on Etsy) but so thoughtful and useful. We use ours so much more than we thought we would.
