How easy is it to switch from electric to gas for cooking?

FWIW, OP, I was used to gas and was disappointed when we moved to a house with electric. It's ended up being a total non-issue.

In our case we’d have to do a gas line upgrade and some sort of grounding and then needed to increase the outlet to a type compatible with a gas stove. We got 3 quotes and they were all telling us similar things that would cost about 3k. So we went induction instead.

Basically, it may just be a few hundred like others have said, or it could be a big expensive project even if you have gas already. So make sure you’re ok taking the gamble.

We now love our induction oven (plus I realized gas wouldn’t have been as good for my kids’ asthma). So we are happy with electric. Also better for baking as others mentioned, which I enjoy.

Ours was relatively easy - I don't recall the exact cost, but it was small compared to the other work we were doing at the same time. We already had gas for heating, and the kitchen isn't far from where the gas line comes into the house (basically sits right on top of the utility room), so we just had to run about 20-30' of gas lines. And since the electric lines were already in place for the old oven, it was really easy to install a dual fuel.
