Is there an old wives' tale about pregnancy you totally believe?

The higher you carry, like basketball = boy; spreadout is girl.

I believe this one!

DP, and I carried all three babies exactly the same (thanks, long torso). One girl, two boys. Interestingly, we didn't know the sex of the first before birth, but the people who guessed boy KNEW it was a boy. Nope!

I had a lot of people tell me my baby would be a boy because of how I carried. I didn't look pregnant from the back, but from the side, it looked like I had stuffed a basketball under my shirt. I had a girl.

My mom drank Maalox straight from the bottle when she was pregnant with me and I was born bald as could be!

If you're pregnancies are similar, you're having the same gender. So far this pregnancy has been identical to the first (had a girl), and this one is a surprise so we'll see...

I'm not sure. I am "glowing" according to my family/friends - no breakouts, hair is shiny, nails are very long and I am 6 months and am barely showing. All of that points to a boy since girls "steal your beauty". On the flip side all I crave is sweets (girl!). I'm having a boy.

This. Oh man. I had horrible heartburn with DS1. I would wake up vomiting stomach acid at night and it would burn so bad I couldn’t breathe. He looked like he was born with a wig on. DS2 had hair but not as much and heartburn was minor compared.

My sister had two pregnancies, polar opposites: two boys.

Huh. I’ve had terrible heartburn with all three pregnancies and each has been born complete bald.

However, I had less nausea with my son than I’ve had with my daughters, so that one lines up with my experience.

Ugh this is such sexist bs.
