Do it. We are considering doing this for a month by moving in with my in-laws. But you'd have your own space! If rentals are that cheap and you can comfortably afford both the rent and your mortgage, I would do it, just for the change of scenery and extra set of hands.
I hear you on hesitating to leave your neighborhood and city life. We are considering moving in with in-laws for a month, for the help and a change of scenery. (They also live in an expensive area so a rental is out of the question). One thing to keep in mind is will you have to increase your exposure in your daily life? We live an inner DC suburb and can have everything delivered--we also have close knit circle of friends in our neighborhood who we see socially distant. But, I am guessing that a midwest city with cheap rents won't have that. |
