Inflatable pool

Also realize that if you set it up on the grass and leave it set up and filled for a long time (weeks), you could damage/kill the grass. We had a big one when my kids were little, but would only set it up for a few days at a time and then empty and remove. Takes a little while for the water to heat up after you fill it, too, if you rely on the sun. But really nice on a hot day!

We bought an Intex 8.5x6.5. It works for my two girls 12 and 9 but the adults won’t be getting in. We’ve inflated it twice for the couple of warm spells we’ve had. I don’t want the water in more than a couple of days because it will get gross. We bought a tarp to keep pollen, etc. out. You will definitely want to drain/fill every few days if you are not going to treat it. Ours probably takes 45 minutes to fill with our hose.

DP here. Yes to this! Ours is on our deck not to kill the grass.

Depending on the size of your pool, I hope you realize that it possibly weighs several tons! Decks are not made to withstand that kind of concentrated weight.

I bought a 10’ diameter pool last week. Just over the course of the day I could see the stock going down on Amazon and ordered it when there were 3 left. An hour later they were all gone.
Did some internet research and will make it a salt water pool. I ordered a 40 pound bag of pool salt from Home Depot that was supposed to arrive today but they cancelled the order because it’s now out of stock. I think I can get it from WalMart but I’ll have to get it in store.
My order of testing strips and pH buffer solutions should arrive though.

The pool comes with a pump but the reviews say that it’s an insufficient pump and a larger works better. I’ll try the pump it comes with and if it doesn’t work hopefully the one I selected online will still be available.

Also, my kids are now 9 and 11, and back in April I asked them if they wanted me to buy another inflatable pool (the old one died a year or two ago). They said no, they would rather stick to water guns/balloons/sprinklers/etc. for outside water play, which is fine with me since a pool can be a pain to inflate, fill, clean, drain, etc. I also saw an inflatable demagorgon sprinkler for "Stranger Things" fans.

Ugh, I meant to say they asked for a giant inflatable unicorn sprinkler instead: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LG15TD9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Do I need chlorinator tabs for an inflatable pool I set up just for a day or two? I can't imagine we would leave it out because it will kill our grass and we need the lawn for our dogs anyway.

No, you do not need to add chlorine for a set up of only 2-3 days.

We just got an 18ftx48in yesterday from Amazon and it showed up today. However, it's back out of stock already. Since camps are all cancelled now and our older kid won't be able to work this summer, we said "eff it" and bought it.

The Intex brand. But, Amazon is sold out again. We got lucky that we looked at the right time yesterday once we got word of the camps and refunds.

We got one from Costco several years ago and it has held up very well, stored off season in folded up in our shed. The brand is H20Go.

You guys do realize that you're never going to keep water in for more than a day, right? Half the fun of a backyard inflatable pool is running across the grass and jumping into it. In about 10 seconds the water is muddy and grassy. It's fun for a few hours, then you drain and deflate it, and do it again the next day.
