No wonder that first generation immigrant kids whose parents maintain their cultural identity have difficulty participating in American team sports. It's because the games are Saturday mornings for everything.

OP here: a lot of this post is somewhat humorous. Please don't get offended, the excessive indignation is all in good fun. Clearly my kindergartener can change her mind six time before turning 16 as to which sport she'll pursue, if any. That said, it would be useful to find a team sport that does not meet Saturday mornings.

- Recreation: Mostly if not all games are Saturday’s

- Classic (Select Soccer): Mix of Saturday/Sunday games

- Academy (Travel Soccer): All games are Sunday’s except maybe one Saturday game and when they play in a tournament.

OP Here: Aha! So if she eventually makes Travel Soccer, that will permit her to be a soccer star while keeping up with Saturday School?

It’s no big deal is she joins Recreational Soccer and misses a few Saturday morning games. Joining a Rec Team is very cheap so missing a few games not an issue. Also, Rec Coaches know that it’s a rec team so they don’t care if your child misses games/practices but give them a heads up when your child is not available so the coach can plan accordingly.

True, but if you are going to miss every game, it's not much fun for the kid!

Not all Rec games are Saturday mornings. Some are Sat noon or afternoons too.
