Heavy breasts....hate underwire

Anonymous
If an underwire bra “hurts,” that means it’s either the wrong size or cheaply made, or both.

You’re not doing your future self any favors by going braless or stretchy bralette with heavy boobs. What do you think that skin is going to look like in 10 years? Esp if you have a kid or two. Unless you look forward to the day your nipples point at the floor, in which case carry on with your cheap jockey pullover thing intended for A-cup women

It’s unfair, but heavy breasted women just have to spend more on appropriate bras. Mine cost $70 each, retail.

Go to an actual lingerie store (or Nordstrom does it too) and have a bra fitting. You're probably in the wrong size.

I also have dense breasts and this was a life-changing experience.

There are some good no underwire bras out there but I don't find them supportive enough for everyday wear - I do like Knix Evolution bra. I have a few and wear them a few times a week.

I agree with the PP that said underwire shouldn't hurt. If it does, something is wrong. Most people think just getting sized is the answer, but it's. Visit this subreddit and do some reading about breast shape and how sizing works, and size yourself based on their directions. Then they will help to narrow down brands that could work for you.

+1 for making sure you have the right size. I have large breasts (not exactly dense) but they are heavier than a person with a/b cup and for lift I love this bra from Le Mystere. Its very comfortable and the foam in the cups are firm, which help lift. By definition, that means it does not minimize.

OP here: Expensive bras. Professional fitting. Been there, done that.

What do you consider expensive, where did you get fitted?

I have dense 32H breasts and don’t have any issue with wires in properly fitting bras.

Ouch! How can they do that to themselves?

My DD is probably close to a C and she wears those Hanes bralettes in XL (from Target). I’ve started to do the same, but I’m now a small B (aging/breastfeeding shrunk my boobs). I can’t stand how itchy I get under my boobs.
