I hate regulation taken to chokepoint. However, these business have taken our society to chokepoint. If it was put into a simple venn diagram, the impact on free speech of a free society would be undeniable.

Steve Brannon and Elizabeth Warren agree on something? This may have legs.

I thought Rs hated regulation.

Those that are screaming for free speech are basically hate speech advocates.

Sorry, I would rather deny hate speech because it simply festers into violence against "the other."

Google is operating as an un-registered lobbyist.

+1

google is removing the video as much and quickly as possible as are other media platforms.

Too late. We saw it. We know. We already suspected, but now we are sure.

The removal itself is evidence of truth. Given Gennai admitted it? All they can do now is try damage control.

The BBC aired a debate last year in the UK between Google, Facebook and a privacy advocate. It was remarkable.

Is there a transcript or video? That would be interesting

Both are here.

Thank you!

Google has its own lobbying arm already. It's why they have a presence in DC. It's no different than the NRA or farmers when it comes to lobbying.

Also, there are a lot of bogus articles and "fake" searches that cause certain websites to appear at the top of the search engine, ie manipulating results. Google tries to remove those in their algorithm but of course, aren't always successful. This is the "resources" that the employee was also referring to. You need a pretty powerful algorithm/machine to make sure the results aren't manipulated.

I always tell my children to not believe everything they google. Adults should do the same. Google search is a great tool, but people really need to look at it with their eyes wide open.

Or, you could always use a different search engine.

Setting aside the political distortions.

The fact that Jen Gennai holds the view that large centralized entity such as Google is objectively better than a collection of smaller entities when it comes to matters of problem solving due to difference in resources is revealing on just how twisted her view on reality is. As has been demonstrated time and time again throughout the history of the western world, it is multiplicity and competition that brings out the best solutions, not centralized/consolidated power/resources.

So then why is the anti-trust division of DOJ basically sitting on its hands under this Administration? The GOP doesn't believe in competition. Duh. That's why entities like Verizon and NewsCorp get bigger and bigger, charging customers ever higher prices for sh#ttier service.

Most of us like facts, not the lies and distortions being pushed by professional trolls like Project Veritas.

Use a different search engine if you'd rather live in your far-rightwing bubble. The rest of us prefer reality.

PP here, not liking something doesn't mean it's up to the government to "fix" it. Did anti-trust actions against Microsoft give birth to the iPhone and Android?

PP here. I was precisely pointing out the fact that multiplicity and competition is what has historically resulted in the best solutions to problems. This is a fact. Jen's view that a large centralized entity like Google is better equipped to solve problems is counter to this fact, therefore my conclusion that her view of reality is twisted. I'm the one arguing for the facts here. I recommend that you try some reading comprehensions exercises before replying again.

I already do

Google admitted they are deliberately altering search results. She said it straight out and why. Good Lord
